What caused the civil war to stop? Bunch of people died 🤣
Do people die in civil wars? :<:smugpepe:445634631950139403>
Just the American one.
Everyone else just throws milkshakes at each other. Then suddenly they all just agree and move on.
I see, we need to rethink our protests here, because they do throw molotovs here
Wow @Andrules what i meant was that most of the shit u read online say that THe war stoppped when Lee and his forces were surrounded by union troops, but I’m pretty sure that’s bullshit if the south were to win
We can't be sure for the history of the war, as the winner tends to "write" down the "truth". Truth to be told you have to search for books written from 19th century to cut down on revisionism
The most common thing you will find in the internet though is that the south was the most prosperous part of the union and they tended to have more slaves because of that while North didn't contribute a lot as it was less prosperous
I’ll assume you’re not being a shitty troll...
The south fucking lost. The actual military battles were generally in the favor of the south. The biggest issue was Sherman (pretty sure it was him) burning farmlands and people’s houses behind the battle lines.
Some historian/scholar types argue that the former confederacy states are still suffering from him burning everything down.
The war started from tensions that were building up over decades of changes between the cultures of the north and the south and the perceived targeting of the south by lawmakers in the north.
@Andrules The biggest mistake of south wasn't that they executed one of the greatest general for that time?
Economic pressures were being placed on the southern states for various reasons. The south just continued to get more and more pissed off about the economic pressure.
Some dumb moves were done on both sides that eventually led to bullets flying around and like 600,000 people dying.

Which executed general?
Confederate, I believe the name of the general was (Jackson?)
I don’t recall any of them being executed.
Ah I see
I still haven't touched Americans history as I haven't even finish Greeks history kek
I think the only execution that came about from the war was a Union soldier for treason
Unless you include deserters
That’s understandable Mike.
Hmm apparently there was about a thousand rebels tried for violation of laws of war, mostly to do with prisoner treatment
Jackson was killed by his own men accidentally
So close enough to an execution
A handful of Confederate soldiers were tried by their own army for mistreating prisoners, and imprisoned with the same people they had abused
Champ Ferguson killed 53 US prisoners
Robert Kennedy for trying to blow up civilians in NY
the technical reason for the start of the civil war was the south failed to pay its taxes
it says only 2 confederates were charged with war crimes, not sure who the other is
If you're going to have a civil war, ours was the way to conduct it.
