I’ll assume you’re not being a shitty troll...

The south fucking lost. The actual military battles were generally in the favor of the south. The biggest issue was Sherman (pretty sure it was him) burning farmlands and people’s houses behind the battle lines.

Some historian/scholar types argue that the former confederacy states are still suffering from him burning everything down.

The war started from tensions that were building up over decades of changes between the cultures of the north and the south and the perceived targeting of the south by lawmakers in the north.

@Andrules The biggest mistake of south wasn't that they executed one of the greatest general for that time?

2019-05-29 19:51:08 UTC

Economic pressures were being placed on the southern states for various reasons. The south just continued to get more and more pissed off about the economic pressure.

Some dumb moves were done on both sides that eventually led to bullets flying around and like 600,000 people dying.

2019-05-29 19:52:37 UTC

Which executed general?

2019-05-29 19:54:25 UTC

Confederate, I believe the name of the general was (Jackson?)

2019-05-29 19:56:01 UTC

I don’t recall any of them being executed.

2019-05-29 19:56:33 UTC

Stonewall Jackson died in one of the battles. After his death, the south began a steady loss.

2019-05-29 19:56:41 UTC

Ah I see

2019-05-29 19:57:54 UTC

I still haven't touched Americans history as I haven't even finish Greeks history kek

2019-05-29 20:27:38 UTC

I think the only execution that came about from the war was a Union soldier for treason

2019-05-29 20:28:20 UTC

Unless you include deserters

2019-05-29 20:28:27 UTC

That’s understandable Mike.

2019-05-29 20:29:59 UTC

Hmm apparently there was about a thousand rebels tried for violation of laws of war, mostly to do with prisoner treatment

2019-05-29 20:30:01 UTC

Jackson was killed by his own men accidentally

2019-05-29 20:30:30 UTC

So close enough to an execution

2019-05-29 20:31:13 UTC

A handful of Confederate soldiers were tried by their own army for mistreating prisoners, and imprisoned with the same people they had abused

2019-05-29 20:31:50 UTC

Champ Ferguson killed 53 US prisoners

2019-05-29 20:32:17 UTC

Robert Kennedy for trying to blow up civilians in NY

2019-05-30 00:26:26 UTC

the technical reason for the start of the civil war was the south failed to pay its taxes

2019-05-30 00:27:44 UTC

it says only 2 confederates were charged with war crimes, not sure who the other is

2019-05-30 00:28:38 UTC

If you're going to have a civil war, ours was the way to conduct it.
