Damn emos(gays)/trendy(extra gay) got raised up and give us this generation

2019-05-29 13:56:36 UTC

Hey guys so I hear that the south won the civil war but everywhere I look online says that the north won so I’m really confused

2019-05-29 13:56:47 UTC

What is the real story

2019-05-29 13:56:58 UTC

(I’m not American btw)

2019-05-29 13:59:40 UTC

the south won and General Lee founded Mormonism

2019-05-29 14:07:49 UTC

@TheKekscernist is there any sources I can read on this

2019-05-29 14:08:31 UTC

And why does every article I read say that general Lee’s surrender ended the war?

2019-05-29 14:08:37 UTC

naw man Lincoln was a super salty bitch about it and suppressed it all in the newspapers, no one knows the truth

2019-05-29 14:09:23 UTC

Then how do we know the south won?

2019-05-29 14:11:28 UTC

Because US exists today

2019-05-29 14:14:06 UTC

@Deleted User but then ppl claim it’s the north victory that led to the US today

2019-05-29 14:14:27 UTC

ANd was Lincoln for slavery or against?

2019-05-29 14:14:47 UTC

Cause I’m confused as to who exactly started the war

2019-05-29 14:15:16 UTC

Lincoln wasn't pro or against slavery at least that his writings say

2019-05-29 14:15:37 UTC

South wanted to depart from the Union and that would leave US in a bad state as the southern states were the most profitable ones

2019-05-29 14:16:51 UTC

I see, so the north started the war?

2019-05-29 14:17:53 UTC

I can't put my hand in the fire for that (non american here) but if I remember correctly from what I have studied Lincoln had to do it to keep the union from breaking

2019-05-29 14:18:20 UTC

Oh I see

2019-05-29 14:18:34 UTC

So what caused the war to stop?

2019-05-29 14:18:52 UTC

What caused the union to be kept?

2019-05-29 14:19:27 UTC

Dunno

2019-05-29 14:23:48 UTC

Picking up a history book would be good if you want to learn in-depth for the civil war

2019-05-29 14:46:21 UTC

What caused the civil war to stop? Bunch of people died 🤣

2019-05-29 14:52:25 UTC

Do people die in civil wars? :<:smugpepe:445634631950139403>

2019-05-29 15:06:10 UTC

Just the American one.

2019-05-29 15:06:54 UTC

Everyone else just throws milkshakes at each other. Then suddenly they all just agree and move on.

2019-05-29 15:09:40 UTC

I see, we need to rethink our protests here, because they do throw molotovs here

2019-05-29 19:27:39 UTC

Wow @Andrules what i meant was that most of the shit u read online say that THe war stoppped when Lee and his forces were surrounded by union troops, but I’m pretty sure that’s bullshit if the south were to win

2019-05-29 19:29:42 UTC

We can't be sure for the history of the war, as the winner tends to "write" down the "truth". Truth to be told you have to search for books written from 19th century to cut down on revisionism

2019-05-29 19:30:34 UTC

The most common thing you will find in the internet though is that the south was the most prosperous part of the union and they tended to have more slaves because of that while North didn't contribute a lot as it was less prosperous

2019-05-29 19:45:19 UTC

I’ll assume you’re not being a shitty troll...

The south fucking lost. The actual military battles were generally in the favor of the south. The biggest issue was Sherman (pretty sure it was him) burning farmlands and people’s houses behind the battle lines.
