Yeah, there's reasons to have doubts. As I said, it's probably research. So they'd be putting the money to the University of Michigan or something.
But GM can get away with paying workers almost nothing and in a currency worth much less than the US dollar. They cost less than the robots replacing workers up here.

Yes. GM is building new plants for electric and autonomous vehicles there. One of the few places they are actually hiring workers in North America.
They are not downsizing by any means
