my mistake

2018-12-10 20:12:29 UTC

its fine. Not like its really an excuse for me. I'm just tired of people falling asleep as the people around them are all banned then suddenly some popular person gets banned and now its important. But that's not necessarily you.

2018-12-10 20:27:26 UTC

I'm not raising my expectations very high since these people rampaging against Patreon are the same people who turned their noses up at Gab after Twitter banned Sargon.

2018-12-10 20:58:52 UTC

wtf

2018-12-10 20:59:05 UTC

thats crazy

2018-12-10 21:03:47 UTC

but at least no one is being shot.

2018-12-10 21:04:05 UTC

Oh they are being shot as well...

2018-12-10 21:04:07 UTC

grenade attacks are part of being multicultural and should be welcomed, you bigot

2018-12-10 21:04:38 UTC

Some hospitals near "exposed areas" (aka nogo zones) have special areas dedicated for gun shot wounds.

2018-12-10 21:05:16 UTC

Wanting to stay alive priveliges being alive over being dead which is a form of racism... 🤔

Still under review by NewsGuard

2018-12-10 21:33:57 UTC

you'll find that many liberal sites, newsguard will flag as trustworthy, but any credible conservative news source will remain "under review"

2018-12-10 21:35:54 UTC

use Canadian news sources for example:
CBC.ca gets the green light
yet National Post and CTV news remains under review rather than greenlighting those legitimate news sources

2018-12-10 21:39:02 UTC

Jezebel and Kotaku get green lit...

@Glaice sgt-report maybe a shitty source but the yt video they posted shows people in yellow vests, they speak swedish and was posted 2 days ago. Google translating some comments reveals that's very probable that it shows what sgt is describing. Commentators mainly complain about 0 media coverage in Sweden about the event.

2018-12-10 22:06:01 UTC

one of the translated comments: "I hope this is the beginning of something big, that is, more and more Swedes go out on streets and squares and demonstrate against mass immigration, multiculturalism and people exchange. Internet and social media are good, but it is not enough. The Swedes must leave the kitchen tables and the computers. I hope these demonstrations will continue after December 10, when the UN Global Migration Agreement is to be approved in Marrakech. The PK establishment must be shaken properly when they see the demonstrations and that more Swedes publicly show that they want a safe and Swedish Sweden."

@Grenade123 this tells so much. Just imagine how cheap things would be without tax if 20% corporate tax rate makes an unviable industry viable.

2018-12-10 22:58:46 UTC

I don't know if can count an industry unviable if taxes is what makes it unviable

2018-12-10 23:02:28 UTC

Right? I mean if you have an option between no industry and a tax subsidized industry...

2018-12-10 23:03:25 UTC

I've been saying for 6 months that the censorship would escalate until it no longer made news and that if the Democrats took Congress it would accelerate.

Months ago, I proposed people should organize to fight for freedom of speech and was met with "you'll never get libertarians to organize and we don't agree on everything so we may as well not" and "why bother" Well. The purge is here and it's accelerating. Are people going to finally get off their asses and quit just feeding outrage bait (like /r/KotakuInAction or, increasingly, this server) or are they just going to read articles, feed them outrage clicks and dig deeper into the libertarian purity spiral? I swear, among us libertarians, we take disagreement and losing as virtues and proudly refuse to organize and fight for anything while assuaging ourselves with self-congratulatory slogans (which are often wrong or ignored outside libertarian echo chambers) like "go woke go broke."

Then there's the perpetual left libertarian versus right libertarian BS. Do you care about freedom of speech or not?

You people are hopeless. Want to know what the left does? It organizes. Regularly. How many lefties do you know who coat every square inch of their property with bumper stickers? Who donate endlessly to the ACLU and then write letters when the ACLU takes principled stands the left doesn't like? How many lefty organizations do you know of? There are atleast 7 dedicated leftie organizations dedicated to buying stocks en masse and then using the power of the corporate board to manipulate corporate policy. Then there's grassroots organizations like Sleeping Giants and organized paid groups like Media Matters.

What do YOU have?

Also, don't bother with Grenade. He mostly just disagrees for the sake of disagreeing and rarely adds much to the conversation. He's got no plans to improve anything besides the "let's just kill social media and not replace it lol" line.

This is in reference to the conversation earlier regarding McInnes

2018-12-10 23:10:16 UTC

allright, the best way to have a solid organized foundation is to declare the mission statement so that all actions correlate from that

2018-12-10 23:10:21 UTC

what would be the mission statement?

2018-12-10 23:10:34 UTC

What would the end goal be?

2018-12-10 23:10:38 UTC

Internet bill of rights?

2018-12-10 23:11:00 UTC

Passing Laws?

2018-12-10 23:11:14 UTC

The creation of new social media platforms?

2018-12-10 23:13:26 UTC

One of my Europeeps finally sent me a response to my inquiries about what is going on over there

2018-12-10 23:13:44 UTC

@boag I've argued for a long time that we needed some kind of net neutrality-like regulation that would essentially require very massive social media platforms to handle traffic like the phone companies do (ironically, Google, Facebook, Reddit among others all pushed net neutrality on the telecoms arguing that it would fight censorship--while keeping themselves above the net neutrality regulations).

New social media companies might work, but I think it's really just a good way to make an echo chamber.

Personally, I'd make the mission statement a bit broader, think the ACLU when it actually cared for civil liberties or something as dogged as the NRA is for the 2nd to be similar for the 1st.

Really, it starts when people actually start making groups, which can happen without a fancy name and mission statement.

Being a native Portlander and hearing from people outside of Oregon like riots are happening when no one even notices all the antifa stuff leads me to wonder just how much is being exaggerated by those not actually there. Not being in Europe I can't say. But being in Portland I can say it's way overblown there.

2018-12-10 23:17:58 UTC

I agree the ACLU has totally lost its way :-(

2018-12-10 23:18:13 UTC

I will no longer be a member which breaks my heart

2018-12-10 23:18:23 UTC

Nobody notices the intersections taken over by commie larpers?
