Its not wise to hold a vote for something and then not deliver it because the "ruling class", who issued the vote, doesn't want it.
It appears the Minds app is no longer on the Google Play Store? Links to the Play Store from Google searches are all dead, only found the app on apk mirrors. If this is true, I don't know why nobody is reporting on it.

Also the play store isn't social media, lad. It's a storefront. It's also not an especially good or necessary one at this point
I'm against these walled gardens in general. But cheering as people are removed isn't productive.
You shouldn't have to hope a single large multinational will carry your app to have people install it.

I said stop using the play store. There are already several ways around using it
Purge all Google trash. Cut it out of your life
Really the only two services that have yet to be totally replaced are maps and YouTube
Maps for routes (it's somehow better than our own transit system for that) and YouTube is slowly grinding off all the worthwhile layers
