Also the play store isn't social media, lad. It's a storefront. It's also not an especially good or necessary one at this point
I'm against these walled gardens in general. But cheering as people are removed isn't productive.
You shouldn't have to hope a single large multinational will carry your app to have people install it.

Really the only two services that have yet to be totally replaced are maps and YouTube
