So this kid is going to be on a prescribed amount of T.

2018-12-31 21:08:30 UTC

@devpav The substantial involvement of outside sex hormones could reasonably be called steroid use, and reasonably be considered a disqualification from typical sport involvement.

2018-12-31 21:09:05 UTC

And there are male bodies and there are female bodies, and thus separate sports for each.

2018-12-31 21:09:10 UTC

So does permitting those who went through male puberty to play against those who didn't, even once the testosterone is gone.

2018-12-31 21:09:12 UTC

"Erasure" of weird edge cases like this is not justification for punishing every other competitor.

2018-12-31 21:09:39 UTC

rachel mckinnon is a fuckin cheater

2018-12-31 21:09:44 UTC

The entire league is being punished for the sake of this monstrosity.

2018-12-31 21:10:12 UTC

Let him fight boys. Then there is no issue.

2018-12-31 21:10:39 UTC

Boys will wrestle just fine against him.

2018-12-31 21:10:40 UTC

The boys' league has an issue with it.

2018-12-31 21:11:06 UTC

Nothing objective, just they "don't like it"

2018-12-31 21:11:19 UTC

He has no advantage against boys

2018-12-31 21:11:21 UTC

There's nothing objective about a girl thinking she's a boy.

2018-12-31 21:11:21 UTC

10th, Who is to say what the prescribed amount should be. Why can't we just raise it, after all these ppl are at a disadvantage.

2018-12-31 21:11:34 UTC

If anything, I think the strongest case can be made for just disqualifying anyone with that degree of chemical interference.

2018-12-31 21:11:54 UTC

That would make the most sense here, Wulfolme.

2018-12-31 21:11:59 UTC

We know the averages for boys that age. That's established.

2018-12-31 21:12:07 UTC

You end up in the same fight you would with mechanical assistance.

2018-12-31 21:12:24 UTC

AShow me one boy that got that amount.

2018-12-31 21:13:25 UTC

What amount? A standard deviation around the mean?

2018-12-31 21:13:47 UTC

It's artificially introduced

2018-12-31 21:13:49 UTC

My point is that that is an average.

2018-12-31 21:14:52 UTC

Should biological males with low testosterone be allowed to compete in sports with enough anabolic steroids introduced to their systems to bring them into average levels of testosterone?

2018-12-31 21:15:05 UTC

So what of a boy with testosterone insufficiency who takes exogenous testosterone to develop normally. Would he be denied participating in sports?

2018-12-31 21:15:16 UTC

yes

2018-12-31 21:15:22 UTC

Yes they should

2018-12-31 21:15:31 UTC

Allowed to participate

2018-12-31 21:15:36 UTC

no they shouldnt

2018-12-31 21:15:47 UTC

That's cruel

2018-12-31 21:15:53 UTC

that's too bad

2018-12-31 21:15:57 UTC

Life is cruel

2018-12-31 21:16:09 UTC

Youth sports should be as inclusive as possible

2018-12-31 21:16:18 UTC

I will never be a pro basketball player.

2018-12-31 21:16:24 UTC

That's the whole point

2018-12-31 21:16:26 UTC

I wasn't fed enough as a child.

2018-12-31 21:16:35 UTC

Nothing I can do now.

2018-12-31 21:17:07 UTC

There has to be a limit to what you consider inclusive and exclusive

2018-12-31 21:17:15 UTC

This isn't pro sports or even NCAA. We're talking youth sports.

2018-12-31 21:17:33 UTC

If one person has to sit out so the system is fair for 400 other people, that is the most inclusive option

2018-12-31 21:18:05 UTC

Sport is riddled with doping. Who is to say that a Dr wont make the case that more T is needed. Oh, anmd just happens that this kid wants to play competitive sports.

2018-12-31 21:18:39 UTC

Once you include low T along with intersex, trans, and general disabled you're talking more like 5 in 100 or so.
