But the judge can rule on various technicalities
Warren v. DC absolutely will be cited as precedent in this case
In Warren, the court held that the police have no duty to protect an individual person, only the "public at large"
It's a fucked up case and I don't like it
Basically some guys broke into a house, raped and tortured a few girls for several hours, and police never showed up despite multiple 911 calls
Typical Greece police
They always come after some hours to not have a confrontation
Cops like that need to rot in prison
and a massive debt for their families
DCPD has a long history of corruption
DC as the capital is not within a state and has its own special laws separate from the rest of civilization
To own a pistol, at the time, you had to prove to the chief of police that you had a reasonable fear
Ahhh same law as Greece
There had been a case where a woman was raped and beaten, man went to prison, told her multiple times he's coming back to rape her again and kill her etc
Victim applies for pistol permit, chief denies it
Some other cases where even 20 year veterans of special forces didn't get permit
Landmark court case, DC v. Heller, changed this
Court held that it is a right to own a firearm for self defense, period
Doesn't the second amendment count though?
Yes but some governments will ignore it
They cannot legally, but they do anyway
Can you drag them to court over this?
Prior to Heller, rifles and shotguns in DC also had to be kept unloaded and locked, or disassembled
Yes you can sue the state or federal government
Basically to drag them to Supreme Court
I see
Here's the most fucked up thing though
Heller, who sued the government, because they wouldn't recognize his rights ... Is a cop
wtf
The nigga has probably carried a gun next to congressmen, cabinet members, and federal judges
But wasn't allowed to have one in his home
It's stupid in the first level to have regulations that the amendment allows
but that's just beyond stupid
One of the circuit judges said that DC isn't a state so the people there don't have constitutional rights
It's like in Greece, if you have a fear that someone is hunting you down. You can do the paperwork (7 months work) to get a loicense for a gun but if you use it for self-defence sorry nigga you will go to prison
Cases don't go directly to the supreme court, they go through multiple lower courts first, and she was a dissenting judge in that case
I see, I believe here if the case is an infrigment on our rights we can ask to go to supreme court directly
Do you have a specifically delinated right to life?
What do you mean?
Does your constitution or basic law say you have a right to life?
