The problem is that would be a blatant lie and they'd be called out on it. I saw this story earlier and it came from a DNC member, who was discovered to have done it from her offices, and when someone contacted her and asked her about it, she specifically said that they had to talk to her boss who told her to do it.

by keeping the details as vague as possible, you can just make it out to be "well this was bad" without framing it.

It's like how many EU and UK police reports are no longer allowed to say if the criminals were migrants anymore.
