I'm still unemployed though, I have to fix that
do you get benefits until you find work
nope
I'm against that anyway, so I wouldn't take them even if it was a thing
nice
its sad how breakdown of the family in the west
only pushes it further towards a bigger welfare state
in asian countries, life's setbacks can be absorbed by the family
but will be interesting to see if that remains
I shocked an Aunt with this but "I oppose welfare because it is the state formalizing and instutionalizing the break down of the family, community in their commitment to take care of each other."
in asia, family based savings is a huge market
served by multiple financial companies
to be used in times of emergencies including health
in the west, its a huge clusterfuck with the whole nationalized health insurance
I was in the Army. I use a cane because of State managed health care
and ppl are again and again coming up with the same solutions like - nationalized education, nationalized healthcare
basically renaming it to - free education and free healthcare
sad shit really
I'm kinda glad that we had to make do with market solutions because our governments couldn't come up with even bad solutions
Swiss have free college, but only for what the state says you can handle based on grades and if you fail you have to pay the state back
nice
but their solutions might not necessarily scale
Here is your free college options* (based on grades and Department of Labor needed jobs projections)
I still think that govt paid education is exactly the wrong way to deal with college debt
increase in administrators and other kind of fat is what is increasing tuition fees
if govt swoops in and pays for it
there's no incentive to curb that
inefficiency
similar case for healthcare
no incentive to cut down on waste and thereby cost by competing for customers directly
if govt pays for it all
There are a few studies out where they found the cheepest sector of health care was elective plastic surgery. Because it is a "Vanity" and not covered by Insurance that area has been working to reduce prices and increase market viability as opposed to HMO health care
Any ideas what could help curb the fat cost of american health services? Last i heard about 60% of the cost of medical goes to payn lawsuits and administration
That has been so hotly debated...
There needs to be less liability for failed operations
Kick doctors out that fail
Americans can lose weight
But don't offload the cost of failure on people who needhelp
Well lets be honest, do you want the Minority Representation doctor to do your life saving surgery or the best doctor in (County, State/provice, Country)?
The medschool acceptance rates for minorites are insane
