War of northern aggression, that meme never gets old.

```"Without presuming to decide the purely legal question, on which it seems evident to me from Madison's and Hamilton's papers that the Fathers of the Constitution were not agreed, I saw in State Rights the only availing check upon the absolutism of the sovereign will, and secession filled me with hope, not as the destruction but as the redemption of Democracy. The institutions of your Republic have not exercised on the old world the salutary and liberating influence which ought to have belonged to them, by reason of those defects and abuses of principle which the Confederate Constitution was expressly and wisely calculated to remedy. I believed that the example of that great Reform would have blessed all the races of mankind by establishing true freedom purged of the native dangers and disorders of Republics. Therefore I deemed that you were fighting the battles of our liberty, our progress, and our civilization; and I mourn for the stake which was lost at Richmond more deeply than I rejoice over that which was saved at Waterloo."
-Lord Acton, Letter (4 November 1866) to Robert E. Lee.```
And then they shot up a union fortress.
2019-01-29 14:29:12 UTC
Making them the aggressors
2019-01-29 14:30:08 UTC
It's hard to say we didn't do anything when you fire the first shot and declared independence.
2019-01-29 14:30:25 UTC
I'm Australian.
2019-01-29 14:31:18 UTC
Filthy remainer. What is wrong with declaring independence?
2019-01-29 14:34:15 UTC
If they are entitled to it based on their contracts, and buzzfeed can't afford it, then buzzfeed is bankrupt.
2019-01-29 14:34:27 UTC
Shut it down.
2019-01-29 14:37:03 UTC
Leave it to Millennials to completely misinterpret 'unlimited vacation'.
2019-01-29 14:37:54 UTC
That last pragerU vid was actually borderline fascist.
2019-01-29 14:38:02 UTC
which one?
2019-01-29 14:38:47 UTC
'Why Trump Won'?
2019-01-29 14:39:06 UTC
2019-01-29 14:40:19 UTC
How do you think it was fascist?
2019-01-29 14:46:38 UTC
Capitalism evil, nations and states are the same thing, central banks are good for the economy, etc. It was only subtle.
2019-01-29 14:47:48 UTC
Could just as easily call it socialist, but same thing.
2019-01-29 15:42:49 UTC
Capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty in the last 10 years, than Socialism and Communism has murdered in the last 100. (A Lot)
2019-01-29 15:43:21 UTC
What I got from that video was “know your people” because we’ve had such disconnect politicians the “some where’s” got sick of the “everywhere’s” shit
2019-01-29 15:55:48 UTC
yeah, that's not remotely facistic
2019-01-29 16:08:46 UTC
Just so we're clear, how is fascism being defined?
2019-01-29 16:09:04 UTC
Because it goes through at least 4 redefinitions daily depending on what it needs to be used for
2019-01-29 16:33:03 UTC
Yeah tbh fascism is such a vague term that can be applied to many things, even things you might consider polar opposites
2019-01-29 16:33:10 UTC
It seems everyone has their own definition
2019-01-29 16:43:21 UTC
I would argue that the best way to define fascism is to use the historical intent and policy decisions involved in creating and sustaining the Italian fascist state
2019-01-29 16:46:58 UTC
that is a non answer
2019-01-29 16:47:04 UTC
you cannot use the term to define itself
2019-01-29 16:47:57 UTC
Wikipedia...
2019-01-29 16:47:59 UTC
"Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of radical authoritarian ultranationalism,[1][2][3][4] characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy,[5] which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe."
2019-01-29 16:53:54 UTC
I didn't use the term to define itself, I would say that one should define a system by how it was implemented, giving some weight to intent obviously
2019-01-29 16:56:00 UTC
Further, that definition is too broad. What would make any socialist state not fascist?
2019-01-29 17:01:03 UTC
globalism?
2019-01-29 17:04:40 UTC
Where's the line there? Did the USSR's cessation of expansion, or Yugoslavia's lack thereof disqualify them as socialist? Did Hitler's expansion make him socialist? Was Stalin a fascist for pursuing "National Communism"?
2019-01-29 17:06:06 UTC
it is over nebulous
2019-01-29 18:33:34 UTC
"nationalism is right-wing"
2019-01-29 18:34:13 UTC
Are we ever going to admit that the current or mainstream political spectrum tables are completely stupid?
2019-01-29 18:44:57 UTC
@Timcast you keep on talking bout ending wars to save money, ever heard of petrodollar ?
2019-01-29 18:45:29 UTC
ending wars might actually make usa lose money
2019-01-29 19:02:29 UTC
Other people claim that the Oil isn't the reason for the wars but an ally is.
