when I was a little kid my mother told me not to stare into the sun

2018-07-02 20:55:43 UTC

so once, when I was six, I did.

2018-07-02 20:56:10 UTC

At first the brightness was overwhelming, but I had seen that before. I kept looking forcing myself not to blink

2018-07-02 20:56:18 UTC

@Timcast I never noticed that

2018-07-02 20:56:27 UTC

The lightness faded into darkness, and I was blind.

2018-07-02 20:56:41 UTC

so uhhhh

2018-07-02 20:56:50 UTC

I got an email from my MCN saying youtube refused to release the strike....

2018-07-02 20:56:55 UTC

10 minutes after they released the strike

2018-07-02 20:56:56 UTC

haha wat

2018-07-02 20:57:05 UTC

and I deleted the video as soon as it was reinstated

2018-07-02 20:57:09 UTC

Ok yeah you blink a lot

2018-07-02 20:57:26 UTC

Didn't notice it until now

2018-07-02 20:57:43 UTC

Good quality support

2018-07-02 20:59:00 UTC

Wait why did you delete it if Youtube said it was fine?

2018-07-02 21:00:17 UTC

@Timcast I thought you got dropped by the MCN

2018-07-02 21:00:27 UTC

no i got dropped my my yt partner manager

2018-07-02 21:00:43 UTC

Oh. Still pretty crappy.

2018-07-02 21:01:40 UTC

i dont want to take any risks

2018-07-02 21:01:45 UTC

they apologized reinstated it

2018-07-02 21:01:47 UTC

removed the strike

2018-07-02 21:01:49 UTC

I deleted it

2018-07-02 21:01:52 UTC

and I was right to do so

2018-07-02 21:02:02 UTC

because 10 mintues later I get a different email saying they would not remove the strike

2018-07-02 21:02:32 UTC

that's pretty odd.

2018-07-02 21:03:39 UTC

Unless the email saying that they wouldn't remove the strike was an error because the video concerning it no longer existed?

2018-07-02 21:03:55 UTC

I still dont understand why computingforever got dropped by mcm

2018-07-02 21:04:07 UTC

It's precautionary.

2018-07-02 21:04:22 UTC

Youtube put MCNs on the hook for their member's content.

2018-07-02 21:04:35 UTC

Sure he said some dumb stuff but never anything realy abusive

2018-07-02 21:05:28 UTC

Have you looked at Youtube's policies?

2018-07-02 21:05:49 UTC

They change them too often

2018-07-02 21:05:52 UTC

So no

2018-07-02 21:06:36 UTC

They're generally incredibly vague, and subject to the whims of the enforcers.

2018-07-02 21:06:53 UTC

Certain content is, in general, more risky than others.

2018-07-02 21:07:33 UTC

Youtube will effectively demolish an MCN given a set number of strikes

2018-07-02 21:07:42 UTC

in much the same way a single channel can be removed after 3 strikes

2018-07-02 21:07:58 UTC

And that would affect an entire MCN's creators.

2018-07-02 21:09:31 UTC

Therefore, MCNs are now given a threat to their existance, and a risk they have to assess, with the standard YouTube® No Firm Answers™ policy, leaving them insecure about what content will get them taken down or not.

2018-07-02 21:12:28 UTC

Btw @Timcast kyle has similar view on what is bernie and what is socialism

2018-07-02 21:12:29 UTC

Computing Forever was taken on initially as a Tech channel. It evolved into a politics channel, something the MCN did not count on. Furthermore, it's politics that are not currently 'In Vogue' with what most Social Media sites promote. Given that current situation, and the fact that he's changed his focus towards politics before, it was probably a risk assessment that he could potentially move towards deeper subjects, more offensive content, etc. And they'd rather cut ties with him before he gets a strike as opposed to after.
