trust me, the logic really doesn't hold

2018-07-12 15:35:21 UTC

but they try

2018-07-12 15:35:43 UTC

the closest they get to consistent logic is they want city-state sized governments

2018-07-12 15:35:53 UTC

unfortunately the nap has less influince than self preservation of everyone who relys on a centralized economy. if you own a massive bussiness that employs thousands of people and anyone else trys to harm you and you have a decent relationship with those employees and theres no state and threatening you threatens their livelyhood then the nap is a constitution writen on tissue paper and is just as binding

2018-07-12 15:35:55 UTC

because thats not "a government" its "a community"

2018-07-12 15:38:29 UTC

Ancaps just want small scale countries they figure they'd rule

2018-07-12 15:38:40 UTC

american corporatism is kinda the modern one where government and bussiness are not one in the same but they both work together against the people

2018-07-12 15:39:14 UTC

its not quite as bad here as it is in europe though

2018-07-12 15:39:55 UTC

though you can kind of point at anything now and say its not as bad here as in europe

2018-07-12 15:44:56 UTC

Yeah I've never been a big fan of "we're not as bad as", especially when it comes to freedom

2018-07-12 15:45:33 UTC

I'd much rather live in a free country than a "more free than" country. The bar will always get lower somewhere

2018-07-12 15:46:36 UTC

its not really a defense, its an expression of gratefulness

2018-07-12 15:46:57 UTC

I think the validity of that also depends on your frame of reference

2018-07-12 15:47:00 UTC

wlat if your country was mroe free than America? 😉

2018-07-12 15:47:42 UTC

If I was fine before and I'm getting slapped across the face now, I won't thank my assailant for using an open hand instead of a closed fist

2018-07-12 15:48:20 UTC

its not that i dont want to be better off, make america great again. but at the same time i think im allowed to be grateful i dont have to start 10 leagues lower in the pit when im trying to climb to a better country

2018-07-12 15:48:43 UTC

but things only went up in america

2018-07-12 15:48:44 UTC

Sure, I just think it's important to keep that distinction in mind

2018-07-12 15:49:06 UTC

Not really. Erosion of rights has been the name of the game for the past 100+ years

2018-07-12 15:49:27 UTC

well i meant in the last 2 years 😛

2018-07-12 15:49:43 UTC

Erosion of society went down for the last 50 years now

2018-07-12 15:49:48 UTC

I mean, pretty much all the same restrictions are still there

2018-07-12 15:50:36 UTC

And we're obviously no better up north, despite growing resentment towards Trudeau and SocJus

2018-07-12 15:50:52 UTC

i think the actual spirit of maga isint that america use to be better, though it kinda was at certain times, i think the spirit of maga is that we shouldent stop trying to make america better, where i think since the 70s we kinda did, or we focused making america better only in a social aspect (which is subjective) and neglected other angles

2018-07-12 15:50:55 UTC

nah we've gotten more free over the decades since 1900, but since 1988 its been going downhill

2018-07-12 15:51:36 UTC

Rights have been getting "reinterpreted" since the early 20th, with only a few fixes along the way

2018-07-12 15:51:55 UTC

2A being the biggest and most obvious example, but one of many

2018-07-12 15:52:02 UTC

2A?

2018-07-12 15:52:06 UTC

2nd Amendment?

2018-07-12 15:52:09 UTC

2nd Amendment

2018-07-12 15:52:14 UTC

im not sure how exactly pre 1900 was less free

2018-07-12 15:52:31 UTC

Neither am I

2018-07-12 15:52:49 UTC

civil rights,

I don't recall gay marriage etc being freely allowed in those days

2018-07-12 15:53:01 UTC

In 46, in TN, locals overthrew a corrupt Mayor and Sheriff with Thompson SMGs and M1 Garands

2018-07-12 15:53:19 UTC

civil rights isint about freedom

2018-07-12 15:53:44 UTC

the civil rights act might not be

2018-07-12 15:53:46 UTC

In the 60s through to to 80s, ownership was restricted for automatic firearms, despite them being allowable constututionally

2018-07-12 15:53:48 UTC

but civil rights as a concept are

2018-07-12 15:54:30 UTC

Civil rights are an aspect of equality, which doesn't always go hand in hand with freedom

2018-07-12 15:54:37 UTC

gay marriage i guess is a freedom though really its just the state giving you marraige rights when your gay. though you wernt prevented from calling yourselves married

2018-07-12 15:55:05 UTC

i dont actually consiter marraige rights a freedom either
