One possible first step is to stick to abstracts.

2018-07-18 06:35:33 UTC

I think

2018-07-18 06:35:45 UTC

Being nice isnt the problem :p

2018-07-18 06:35:58 UTC

philosophies and stuff. It tends to attract slightly less passion than current events.

2018-07-18 06:36:04 UTC

Ye

2018-07-18 06:36:05 UTC

or also doing things barebones having just the main goals ready to see if it practically is as good produced as concepted

2018-07-18 06:36:10 UTC

I mean, you can only trust yourself to do what you consider right

2018-07-18 06:36:23 UTC

I'll think about it

2018-07-18 06:36:33 UTC

It's a good idea. But nothing is perfect

2018-07-18 06:36:48 UTC

Indeed.

2018-07-18 06:37:17 UTC

Basically, my plan is to run the server like Soviet russia

2018-07-18 06:37:35 UTC

One thing I was considering was trying to think of a way to ensure a balanced look at these things.

My problem was that I could never figure out how you would prevent false flags and concern trolling.

2018-07-18 06:37:50 UTC

There won't be no trolls or flags

2018-07-18 06:38:00 UTC

There will be flags, ok

2018-07-18 06:38:11 UTC

But I'll try and keep it human

2018-07-18 06:38:34 UTC

False flags are only a problem when the system is automated

2018-07-18 06:38:58 UTC

Like on youtube

2018-07-18 06:39:48 UTC

nonono, false flag is a term for pretending to be an opponent to disrupt them or create bad press

(see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_flag)

concern trolling is pretending to be a member of a group online to improve identification with people you're looking to persuade (see; https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=concern%20troll)

2018-07-18 06:40:26 UTC

Oooh

2018-07-18 06:40:34 UTC

Essentially, it's hard to trust people to be honest about their own identifications, so to speak, so it's hard to ensure balance.

2018-07-18 06:41:02 UTC

Hmmm

2018-07-18 06:41:07 UTC

If you know people personally or it's the same people attaching a common identifier, this isn't as much a problem.

2018-07-18 06:41:32 UTC

Well, the I know like two writers on quora I can trust

2018-07-18 06:41:55 UTC

Ones a psychopath....And the other is one f the founders of the Alt right lol

2018-07-18 06:42:14 UTC

I talk to them regularly

2018-07-18 06:42:48 UTC

Maybe I'll try to put an application out on Twitter or Facebook

2018-07-18 06:42:57 UTC

Maybe people write articles

2018-07-18 06:43:02 UTC

and I read them

2018-07-18 06:43:07 UTC

Keep them around for a while

2018-07-18 06:43:12 UTC

@ExceptionalFeather I can't tell you not to use wikipedia, and it's got some use.

But do be aware of it's limitations and don't just assume what you read is necessarily accurate. Particularly if names or something seem to start flying or the people who are discussed in an article protest.

2018-07-18 06:43:27 UTC

But yeah these are possible issues

2018-07-18 06:43:32 UTC

It's ultimately better to do your own extensive research on politics in many cases and balance sources.

2018-07-18 06:43:40 UTC

I think I should start with the basics first

2018-07-18 06:43:49 UTC

Design the site

2018-07-18 06:43:59 UTC

lol. @Deleted User you've got odd friends.

2018-07-18 06:44:06 UTC

But if it seems to work.

2018-07-18 06:44:12 UTC

Hey, they're interesting people

2018-07-18 06:44:24 UTC

The psychopath is a conservative

2018-07-18 06:44:26 UTC

@pratel I don't assume any source is outright accurate

2018-07-18 06:44:39 UTC

It's always more fun to have interesting friends than normal friends. I cannot lie.

2018-07-18 06:44:50 UTC

And the other guy is Frank Smytt
