The easier it becomes to produce music

The worse the overall quality will become

Its actually just marketing

Though difficulty does play a role

I mean, you strive for the biggest group.

Basically people respond best to generic noise

I think there is some intelligence required to know which noises appeals to the biggest group

I think its not that its become easier

I think that 4'33" is the pinnacle of modern music

But that its become quantifiable

It's been downhill since then

All genres slowly mush together and louder volume trumps finesse

For example in the 70s and 80s, you had to put in hours and hours of improvisation, get an orchestra, carefully plan everything

So at the end, it was harder to fuck up,

Now, get a dude, give him 10 hours on FL studio

I mean, the Beatles were still 4chords for the most part

Write lyrics, put in shitton of autotune

Throw shit at the wall until something sticks

Well, a lot of the mainstream bands these days all contract out to the same lyrics-writing agency as well
