to better clarify

2018-07-19 07:22:39 UTC

Like if they had unfettered power?

2018-07-19 07:22:41 UTC

Or...?

2018-07-19 07:22:52 UTC

like people show up and mob rule

2018-07-19 07:23:29 UTC

more of a question of who do you trust I guess

2018-07-19 07:23:57 UTC

I trust who i know. Whether you think the public would be reasonable or not is more a matter of faith and hope then 'trust'

2018-07-19 07:24:14 UTC

i think I get what he's trying to ask

2018-07-19 07:24:19 UTC

A different level of trust for sure

2018-07-19 07:24:41 UTC

like if you could decide what percentage of people would need to agree on soemthing that you would trust / support

2018-07-19 07:24:55 UTC

in your version of democracy

2018-07-19 07:25:13 UTC

or i guess what percentage of people are morons in your opinion

2018-07-19 07:25:28 UTC

That's mostly just a pessimism question

2018-07-19 07:25:42 UTC

And i dont have a answer because in a way i feel like its a stupid question to ask, its... too simple?

2018-07-19 07:25:42 UTC

99.9999% are morons, only I'm smart tbh

2018-07-19 07:26:08 UTC

Well I am tired and it is hard to articulate what I want

2018-07-19 07:26:22 UTC

I think what you said last made clear what you want

2018-07-19 07:26:44 UTC

But for me I think majority people just don't matter

2018-07-19 07:27:33 UTC

but not by groups if that makes sense

2018-07-19 07:27:50 UTC

I think assuming you're surfing above the crowd is some combination of naive and overconfident in most cases. At least to that degree.

2018-07-19 07:27:52 UTC

I think it is somewhat random

2018-07-19 07:28:26 UTC

GDPR isnt really anything new, if you were compliant to the previous recommendation (forget the name) you barely had to change anything for most of them, from what i have heard system maintainers talk about it

2018-07-19 07:28:39 UTC

For me it is more, as far as improving the future, I don't feel motivated to do it for everyone

2018-07-19 07:29:42 UTC

But I feel motivated to improve the lives of still a significant chunk, and by improving everyone for the sake of the potential in their kids

2018-07-19 07:30:40 UTC

I mean there is plen ty of people i dont like, but saying i dont think their opinions matter in politics as a result is a bit too simple

2018-07-19 07:30:48 UTC

They might not matter to me very much, but they still matter

2018-07-19 07:31:04 UTC

But what if they drag down society as a whole

2018-07-19 07:31:20 UTC

recommendation wasn't legally binding, it was literally 'hey guys we recommend this because this big thing is coming'
they didn't have to abide by it afaik

2018-07-19 07:31:20 UTC

I might dismiss SJW's and religious conservatives as a matter of fact, but these peoples opinions still matter overall

2018-07-19 07:32:20 UTC

But does every SJW opinion matter? Or do you mean that you can't dismiss the group because there are people in the group whose opinions matter

2018-07-19 07:32:33 UTC

I dont get what you're trying to ask

2018-07-19 07:32:43 UTC

They can all vote, they can presumably all speak

2018-07-19 07:33:12 UTC

luckily theyr mostly a vocal minority

2018-07-19 07:33:32 UTC

Also, the problem with 'dragging society down' is the fact it is ultimately subjective

2018-07-19 07:33:34 UTC

I don't mean right to have an opinion so much as the opinion itself

2018-07-19 07:33:45 UTC

Different people have very different ideas on what kind of people drag society down

2018-07-19 07:33:52 UTC

either you believe their opinion matters or your doesn't matter either..as much as opinions can matter..

2018-07-19 07:34:31 UTC

For example if someone has a sour opinion of myself that is purely malicious and of a troll nature I would say that particular opinion does not matter

2018-07-19 07:34:31 UTC

Its the authoritarian problem, and the solution is not being a authoritarian cunt about the whole thing.

2018-07-19 07:34:44 UTC

It doesnt matter to you, Sure?

2018-07-19 07:35:07 UTC

But you started this out talking about politics

2018-07-19 07:35:13 UTC

Politics you say?
