How do you know.
What do you even mean how do I know? I know because you're telling someone they're not allowed to make their own choices.
I challenge you, go into a muslim community, find me one person who says she's being pressured into it.
That has nothing to do with the simple fact that you're trying to control people.
I don't care if it's being oppressive to a negligible minority. It's being used for far worse purposes
And, you can wear a chador
I don't like that aspect of the culture any more than you do, but I'm not willing to give up my own, and everyone else's freedom for promises that people will be treated nicer.
You were saying hijab.
Chador is hijab.
In Germany a ban on masks also applies to facial curtains
You have to have an ID-able face in public
@Deleted User but but wearing a hijab is a choice REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe
Wear it at home
Covering hair in public is fine though
@Schedrevka Chador isn't hijab you cuck
It covers your head, leaves your face
Hijab is a wide category. It doesn't only refer to veils that cover the face. At least not in the western world.
I think this is a classic Europe versus US thing.
Europeans won't admit it, but they are much more protective of their culture(s) and can be kinda xenophobic at times (look at France and their insistence and protectiveness of their language)
Americans (almost uniformly as I can tell) will typically view banning hijabs as an affront to freedom of religion. And you're going to find even less support of bans in libertarian-ish communities.
No it fucking doesn't
So France and Germany might ban the hijab but it won't really fly in the US.
I don't really know what to say, because you're just wrong.
Do an image search for the word.
There's hijab, niquab, and chador
There's no "Wide category"
Here's a diagram, since words are clearly too hard for you
Fucking "Wide categories"
Jesus
Hijab both refers to any sort of muslim veil, although the head scarf is most common.
I think you're both right here.
Shivangi is using the proper definition
Hijab as the word means veil sure
Schedrevka is using a colloquial definition common in parts of the western world.
Given the choice, Shivangi's definition is probably preferable.
So you guys call any muslim veil "hijab"
My god
But I'm not entirely sure I see if it matters.
Some guys do. Mostly because they've never heard of the others.
What even
i've heard of a burka, but extremely rarely. usually they're all referred to as hijab
