lmao
There's a saying: "every company is a software company"
Everybody these days needs some kind of IT support.
IT support pays well usually but you have to deal with shitty people
I wouldn't say "most" but "a large plurality" would be accurate.
choose your poison
I hate it here dude. I'm not suprised they're leaving
Maybe. But India never gets better if everyone leaves.
I know an industry that pays well, no college needed... It slips my mind at the moment... 😉
EW
EWEWEWEWEW
India is playing catch-up. It'll get better.
Not really
@HVAC oh shit yeah i know about that
HVAC is amazing. Everyone forgets it exists. Until the A/C breaks and they have to pay a couple hundred an hour to the repairman.
Here, meritocracy is effectively fucked
@Deleted User how?
@HVAC i heard women have a leg up in that industry 😜
I'll give my example
For getting into college, atleast in STEM, you gotta write public exams
In engineering, it's AIEEE or JEE
I guarantee a woman HVAC tech 150k after 5 years. Simple supply and demand. there are 0, we need 1,000
Now if you're a minority, like a lower caste person, your cut off marks are less than the general category
This is common in all exams
Is that like affermative action, or the opposite?
My marks were 340 out of 360
And my rank was 234
the guy above me was 280/360
!rank
It's honestly infuriating
@HVAC Worse
yep. Know the feeling.
Legally enforced Bigotry of low expectations
and discrimination against higher castes for equity
We've got stuff like that too.
Like Asians (Chinese, Korean) students needing a higher score than the other minorities to get in College?
And it's not just exams. There's quotas in every government post, even parliament seats
And worse, the exam boards are corrupt as hell
That's the one thing we don't have. Thank you 14th amendment
The system that intentionally raises the inferior based solely on their class or race is doomed to fail. Sorry.
