All the Muslims are in the north so Islamic culture is infused with north Indian culture. I blame it on that partly. Also the people in the north got brutalized more by conquerors and despotic rulers (often Muslim) so that can turn a culture more violent and just dysfunctional. Stuff like honour killing happens in the north but hardly ever in the south.
