now the issue is, for allegations, the standard of proof is set to "is it possible"

instead of "beyond a reasonable doubt"

The standard of evidence is "Preponderance of the Evidence". Basically if there's a 51% chance that it could have happened, it happened. As opposed to beyond a reasonable doubt, where it almost certainly did happen, even if you could think of a scenario that means it didn't.
