Most of the native americans were killed before we saw them.
The germs spread that far, that fast.
And it wasn't something done on purpose.
No one knew how it worked.
most people harmed by our ancestors died 5 generations ago
yeah
i love when people argue that we committed biological warfare on the natives
did anyone understand germ theory back then?
as if literally anyone at the time had a single clue how disease worked
We did understand it on a basic level, but not really
Yea, kind of sad. It was quite inevitable that such a thing would happen. Just wish we couldβve preserved more of the culture. *shrug* weβll do that when we invade primitive alien civilizations
There were aspects of it hidden in religion, but not directly
We understood how disease can spread
Guns Germs and Steel is racist guuuuuuuuys lel
But we still believed it was caused by shit like unbalanced humors
I don't get why people make such a fuss about the slivers of "facts" the past has
What happened, happened, our history is set in some ways, probably most of it is lies agreed upon.
I don't have to feel sorry for what other people did 100+ years before i was born
the nat amer culture is still somewhat there
Science is colonialism
Kek
I mean look at the names of the states
guns germs and steel isn't racist, but it does ignore the truth when it gets away from what he set out to prove from the start
Its like the claims of the holocaust
I dont like GG&S
Yea
Idaho is a completely made up name
it suggests a marxist idea of things influencing history
Regardless, the natives who didn't die of disease had a pretty shitty time afterward. But that was how it was for the vast majority of human history. You conquered, killed, and enslaved other people and those other people were just shit out of luck. It wasn't until very recently that the idea of treating everyone as equals came about.
instead of ideas
