sound in space: there is no way for wobbly air to reach you from the starting point of the noise and the destination, if inbetween there is the vaccuum of space. this is not the whole argument though. it is possible that forms of energy transfer not reliant on air do reach over the "space gap" like for example electromagnatic forces, which then create sounds at the destination because of how electromagnatic forces interact with the matter at the destination

so when the electromagnetic wave arrives from a explosion over your ship, it would sound like it arrived, even though sound didnt actually travel
