I was gonna say, you're going to have to drop the price either way

2018-08-15 19:58:26 UTC

yup

2018-08-15 19:58:37 UTC

and I do believe its artificially high right now

2018-08-15 19:58:54 UTC

due to lack of negotiation

2018-08-15 19:59:12 UTC

I've completely forgotten this, but.

2018-08-15 19:59:20 UTC

lack of ability to negotiate I should say

2018-08-15 19:59:28 UTC

What is it that's caused the medical costs to go through the roof?

2018-08-15 19:59:34 UTC

I also want Drs to be able to make money

2018-08-15 19:59:40 UTC

many reasons

2018-08-15 19:59:55 UTC

... The most disappointing answer of all.

2018-08-15 19:59:57 UTC

at least in the US

2018-08-15 20:00:02 UTC

its not just one thing

2018-08-15 20:00:41 UTC

?

2018-08-15 20:01:10 UTC

Well you didn't list the things..

2018-08-15 20:01:29 UTC

do I have to?

2018-08-15 20:01:35 UTC

I mean its pretty standard reasons

2018-08-15 20:02:00 UTC

High cost of entry to become a doctor is one

2018-08-15 20:02:19 UTC

Okay but

2018-08-15 20:02:23 UTC

I've forgotten the standard reasons.

2018-08-15 20:03:00 UTC

for-profit insurance, lack of competition, for-profit drug companies, for-profit education for drs, for-profit student loan companies (and btw I'm a capitalist, I just think most of the costs of obfuscated so not easy to compete)

2018-08-15 20:03:04 UTC

Patients pay the bill ultimately for doctors going to school

2018-08-15 20:03:27 UTC

Dirty tactics by insurance in general

2018-08-15 20:03:29 UTC

insruance meanting health insurance and malpractice

2018-08-15 20:04:34 UTC

hospitals charge different rates and many times you can't just "shop around" because the billing codes are "hidden" unless you know how to navigate the beauracracy

2018-08-15 20:04:44 UTC

and that's just for starters

2018-08-15 20:05:10 UTC

and again, I'm for competition and not for socialism, but that's not what we're talking about here

2018-08-15 20:05:16 UTC

Ah, one more thing I can blame the colleges for.

2018-08-15 20:05:21 UTC

I want these companies to be able to make money to provide a service

2018-08-15 20:05:24 UTC

Seriously what the shit are we doing.

2018-08-15 20:05:37 UTC

High dependency on doctors, one could point to insurance as part of it. Creates the thought process that if I am paying for it I might as well use it, causing high demand on a low supply of medical attention naturally raising prices

2018-08-15 20:05:56 UTC

again, it's not just one thing

2018-08-15 20:06:00 UTC

and it's spiraled

2018-08-15 20:06:07 UTC

so people instinctively want to go the opposite way

2018-08-15 20:06:29 UTC

to the extreme

2018-08-15 20:07:02 UTC

Let me put it this way, how much should a Doctor make?

2018-08-15 20:07:04 UTC

you know, I commend Bernie for actually sticking to his principle rather than being an Obama or hillary and try and give a non=answer

2018-08-15 20:07:29 UTC

I'm in no way going to ever say we should limits someone's salary

2018-08-15 20:07:36 UTC

he was pretty straight forward: People need healthcare, they most get it from their job, if you can't figure out how to offer it, you should not be offering people jobs.

2018-08-15 20:07:54 UTC

the whole healthcare tied to job is wrong, imo

2018-08-15 20:07:59 UTC

I was not going that route @LotheronPrime

2018-08-15 20:08:29 UTC

very near sighted since it basically means if healthcare is too expensive for even business to offer then no one gets a job and they cannot afford anything
