You need to have a philosophy of some kind.
Really, alot of these kinds of fights are clarified if everyone can agree to some definitions and limits on the discussion first.
Science promises no philosophy at all.
I'll bet that more or less everyone is working off something different.
True, @pratel I agree with that.
So lets define Religion with a thing that brings people together, gives them a reason to live and chain the beast inside of them.
When is the guy who's going to parrot Jordan Peterson's "whatever you care about and believe in is ur god lol" shit going to turn up?
That's a nonsensical definition
the angriest, sadest, most viscious person i avoid in my normal gaming discord is a hardline aitheist, ofc im not dumb enough to think all aitheists are like this. most of the nicer and more interesting people are also aitheist, but two of them in particular are also in the Middle East and have more valid reasons to hate religion then said angry-gamer American Aitheist guy, yet both of them are like 'o wow i like these intellectual darkweb things you sent me about religion', meanwhile angry American guy just reposts his own sentiment in more extreme ways over and over again....
Thats more a commentary on choosing not to look into other views and viewing everything as a argument rather then a debate tho
But packing the philosophy in with a bunch of fucking nonsense that TOO MANY people take literally. I'll never go in for it.
It's like when people try to define communism as "a successful system that..."
Enforce the emphasis on metaphor.
@Stefan Payne I can agree with that. But then it would include things like nationalism or hobbies.
Then your religion is okay.
Which would be a bit broad.
Militant Athieist have the tendancy of being the "Deluded pychopaths" the accuse religious people of being
I think it's mainly the people who build their identity around being atheist that are the annoying ones. Since most of them tend to have felt really betrayed by their upbringing
That's anti-theist.
Defining ideologies by results is dishonest
@Schedrevka Yes. And alot of them are just indoctrinated on social media.
My summation is this, I will not approve of action taken against people who hold a set of beliefs just because the beliefs are certifiably terrible. I will always condemn the actions taken, instead.
```@Stefan Payne I can agree with that. But then it would include things like nationalism or hobbies.```
Hobbies not neccesarily, but that's exactly my point that people look for something to believe in and if you remove religion, there is a void that has to be filled somehow.
Militant atheist should be an absurdist term.
It's like the neutral people.
It's funny because it contradicts IMMEDIATELY
Not necesarily.
Militant atheists exist...
Lacking belief is not something you can get aggressive about. Insisting other people not believe in THEIR shit, is. And there's a word for that. A different word. ANTI-THEIST.
ANTI.
And the worst things that could fill this Religios Void is Intersectional Feminism, Marxism, the Religion of Social Justice or Political Partys.
THEIST.
LEARN IT.
But sadly we have to deal with them.
**LEARN IT**
You're making the assumption that *all* people need something to fill their spiritual hole. Not all people are the same
@Khanclansith ya thats my problem, i suppose its worthwhile to preface 'Militant Athieist', they are no more athieist , but like to somehow pretend they are and want to demand people bend to them
*they have seen the light*
Sched, I think most people do.
ANTI-THEIST YOU THICK FUCK.
it all ends up sounding religious
"The English word militant is both an adjective and a noun, and is generally used to mean vigorously active, combative and aggressive, especially in support of a cause"
