EA thinks that people will always buy Battlefield Games and sees a potential market in a large amount of people who want more progressive games
Logically If you make a product that people ask for they should want to buy it
They view the SJWs as customers not as a negative PR protection racket

In other words if you make a game thats half battlefield and half fortnite youll most of the battlefield players and a good number of the fortnite players
That fatal error of thinking there's a vast ocean of hidden markets lying just under our feet.
And if we keep drilling through our own people long enough, we'll get them.
Your own people don't like being drilled through though.
Kinda pisses them off.
And when it turns out the other markets don't exist, it's too late.

I cant recall the last time anyone bought a game because it was described as half of another game

I have turned my back on more franchises than I can count because of this kind of bullshit.
I guess the only saving grace is that almost all entertainment is so awful these days that I don't feel like I'm depriving myself of anything. I do wish there were more good scifi books though. SJWs taking over that industry really hurt.
Well the issue is the theory has been adopted too widely
It works very well for standard products. Things like cars, microwaves, even food to a lesser degree all benefit massively from courting new markets because people use them for a long period of time.
Everyone has a favorite resturant that they constantly go to and ones they hate, even among fast food chains that literally have different names for the same things.
The differance is if a Car is a POS, then the company will have to change it. Everything else, it is harder to keep track of what is actually working vs false possitives
Exactly, the difference is that no feedback for the entertainment industry exists besides what people say about it.
Companies are being told to catter to non-costumers who won't become customers no mater what the company does to court them, in the mean time they are alienating their core customer base.
Right and this is a direct result of branding/blue sea theories becoming too widespread in the business world
I don't understand why companies try to pander to SJWs, when SJWs will not touch what they make and usually end up being boycotted by the SJWs.
The focus is on building a brand and using that brand name to open/break into new markets
Every time a company panders to SJWs, they get burned.
Currently they are like freaking moths chasing a light that will kill them.

The basic problem of SJWs and their Hashtag movements is they don't like anything but demand everyone bends to their whims and so no one can enjoy anything
