I have a question for flat earthers. If the Earth is truly a flat disk, why is it that I cannot see Mount Everest from my current home in the United Kingdom? Surely the height of the peak would be big enough to see from even 4,606 miles? Unless less miles are required seeing as the Earth is one flat disk and it would require a smaller amount of miles seeing as I am not going over a curved shape.

No, I'm pretty sure I would. You can see the Great Wall of China from space right? The great wall doesn't amount to half of the height of Mount Everest.

Then how would you explain the shifting of the contenents?

How would you explain convection currents deep underneath the "Flat-Earth's" crust?

Does the Flat-Earth have a mantle? I doubt it would have a core seeing as cores are usually described in the context of spheres.

@mjones You say that it can't really been seen from space becuase no images of earth taken from space are actually real, but what about the moon's rotation around the Earth?

Also, if the sun really goes around the earth in order to create the "day and night effect" are you suggesting that the geocentric model of our solar system is correct?

This is a debate channel. Not a channel to throw personal insults at one another. The first word of the title of this channel is called, "civil." Saying the Earth is "furry" is nor realistic or civil.

I am not sure you understand what Discord is now. Discord __used__ to be an area where people could talk about gaming and memes. Now it's so much more. You can debate, video call, create communities like these, share pictures, and spread happiness. Discord is a place for this. You are getting too stuck in the past.

Although they have quite seriously misguided beliefs, which I think we can both agree on, we should still debate this topic to the fullest extent in the name of science and research. Science is always changing and 95% of the time, laws are created by multiple scientists debating over a topic and majority rules.

That's the thing. "one of those scientists" are the people who share it in a community. The community wont listen since they are ignorant and unwilling to accept the truth.

Debate is the most important way of making decisions whether it be for a society or even scientific laws.

Without debate, we wouldn't have societies like this one. Without debate, slavery would've been socially acceptable around the world.

Is it though? The Greeks had slaves, true, but their form of direct democracy inspired American colonists to create the representative democracy that they currently have. May I remind you, Lincoln Douglas debates were founded on the resolution on whether slaves should be classified as American citizens.

And according to history, Licoln stopped slavery in 1865

Look at China. They have children working in factories and those children don't even realize that they are slaves because they were raised in this communist environment and were not exposed to socialism and the media.
