its become political because people have polarized the situation depending on your viewpoint. If you want people to have liberties with mask wearing you are seen as contributing to covid spread, but if you want to encourage people to wear masks you seen as impeding on peoples freedom. The reality of the situation should be somewhere in between, but like anything in this political environment it is seen as a black and white scenario

people see it as all or nothing and has therefore been separated by politcal view. If you take me as an example, i believe that masks can be effective in the right scenarios, but it should not impede on the civil liberties of the public. Many would see this in the black and white perspective of me being for people not wearing masks, therefore I deny science and want people to die

its the classic slippery slope argument

thats where the political polarization comes in. People are seen as either believing fully in masks or completely denying it, when in reality it is in between those view points

and I think where many people have an issue is with the science not coming to a consensus on the general mask wearing of the public

its proven to help in certain circumstances, but also proven to be completely ineffective in others

I mean look at the whole lockdown debate, the WHO now comes out against it but there are still those that believe that lockdowns are the only way to stop the spread

It has shifted to a debate on civil liberties to some people, which then creates more of a political debate about it

It all has to do with which costs you think outweigh the benefits

Yes its a good example, if everyone is locked down in there houses away from people it would significantly stop the spread of the virus. At the same time it causes huge detriments to many other aspects of society. Its more extreme than the cost/benefits of mask wearing but thats why theres more debate on that subject

mask wearing that is

some people see it as "just wear a mask its not that hard" but also some others believe that that viewpoint ignores some of the detriments of wearing the mask. Doesn't apply to everyone of course, but thats why people are against mandatory mask wearing

People should make up their own mind about it based on the evidence they have, thats why its so dangerous for information to be censored

Yeah theres certainly those out there that believe that. I think theres many situations where people take a small bit of truth and run with it to something extreme. But a reason we hear so much about that is because it is shown as an example of what the "opposition" thinks

Well there's a difference between censoring harmful information, and censoring opinionated information. If something is against the law it is not protected under freedom of speech, but if someone says something extreme that is only their opinion it is protected under the law

The problem nowadays is that censoring is taking place on opinionated material, not just illegal material

Well take covid for example. If you say something on facebook or twitter that isnt in line with the WHO then you get it removed

even if it is just your opinion

That's where people have to use discretion, censoring shouldn't be used to prevent the possibility of subjective harm. It should be used to prevent impending harm

That where physical speech is protected

I mean it happens all the time, on or off the internet. People take things out of context all the time, or take certain opinions as fact compared to others. The problem is that governments shouldn't decide that for the people it governs. The issue now is that the corporations are the ones that govern these platforms

Well it started with covid

now censorship in regards to covid i guess

I guess I'll sum it up with this since its a long conversation. Organizations like the WHO are there to provide guidance, not governance

It's not the place of government to force people to do things unless they are proven to be against the law

Mask wearing is something where the guidance is to wear it, but it is not the place of the government, federal or corporate, to mandate that people comply with the guidance

i think thats where many people have an issue. corporate governance is not subject to the same restrictions as federal governance

its a little extreme to cry about wearing a mask to a store for 15 minutes i agree, but i think most people have an issue with the broader idea

well thats why theres a different issue for school. They are held to government standards, usually state government, unless they are private schools

Well thats where politics have leeched in to the WHO

theres many non-biased people there

That's why you can see a discrepancy between the scientists involved in the WHO and the people that are actually in charge of the organization

That's the thing, the science is typically all over the place about most issues, and the statements that are made on the scientists behalf is usually influenced until there is an actual consensus

That's how science gets politicized. Some take only the information that suites their viewpoint and ignore the rest

That's why theres such thing as healthy skepticism, the viewpoint that the WHO is right about everything is wrong, but also the viewpoint that they cant be trusted about anything is wrong

but with humans trust is a delicate thing, so once someone loses some amounts of trust with someone or something they have the tendency to stop trusting it entirely

speaking of steam, dont steam clean your masks, its makes them less effective by opening up the pores of the material

lol bringing the tangent full circle

Only an exalted cyclops! How could they claim he eulogized a grand wizard?!

lmao

Most people will only ever read the headline unfortunately

Just look at the transition integrity project, they don't plan to have a peaceful election no matter what

What a joke, a country whose government is involved in ethnic cleansing is on the human rights counsel

That's like putting Nazi germany c. 1939 on the human rights council

It's all just a convoluted plot to finally defeat the emus

actually pornhub has been criticized for not doing well at filtering out child pornography https://www.foxnews.com/media/pornhub-doj-investigation-bipartisan-scrutiny

Just to put in to perspective how many people get the flu every year... https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html

this is just the beginning

if somehow biden wins we are screwed

I bet that Ted Cruz runs again in 2024

I just voted in massachusetts and the line was into the parking lot, twice the size as 2018

KANYE 2020

oops i spelled TRUMP wrong

imagine not voting straight republican down the ballot

you either vote for trump or vote for communism

i bet trump said a guy named trump talking about his son

JOE FOR RESIDENT 2020

lol

If you want America to become China, then you vote for Biden

You either vote for Trump or vote for The Great Reset

Take it easy on him, he is a humanitarian, he doesnt want to see millions die waiting for bread lines

joe who?

lmao

Hitler was a meth addict

Hitler would have had insane parties with Hunter

some states will report today, some by wednesday and then PA by firday

friday*

If Joe Biden wins that means that they win the senate and the house because the polls would be right there too. So no impeachment and full bore socialism

I think Trump is gonna smoke slow Joe

and if Trump wins, that pretty much means we keep a majority in the senate

By the way most of the races are right now

I mean he is made of plastic so how bad could the bath water be

.000001% actually

Its the only votes so far cause 2 villages in NH voted at midnight

dicks out for trump

someone told him he had to stamp the ballot

just remember guys that in some states we are gonna see the mail in and early ballots first

dicks lopped off for biden!

Most important poll closing is florida

and georgia

anything except fox lol

I think its all the early ballots that are being counted atm

thats why you see some counties swinging blue that werent in 2016

Indiana and kentucky are gonna be red no matter what

but how florida does is what the tell will be on the rest of the election

if trump takes it by storm then we are in for some lefty meltdowns

i think we will still see a narrower margin. but thats not surprising since it was by like 30% in 2016

here comes the trump train

lets go florida do some work

yeah they call the obvious states right away

vt is always blue, virginia blue, kentucky red

he could possibly flip some but its very VERY unlikely

one big early tell is how miami-dade county goes

if trump loses it by less than 20% this is gonna be one wild ride
