Not really, but Dems should have gotten stomped. Reason above all else is the man is a complete asshole and picks fights where he doesn't need to. Already ran 1/8th of his collation out.
I doubt that
Estonia is an odd Country. It's an Slavic country that wants to be Nordic.
"USSR was hardly Socialist"
Are you fucking kidding me?
Wages is a whole can of worms
Problem with people is they tend to look at things as one side or the other. However, the reality is often a spectrum. I see Feminists and MGTOWs as opposite exterems of sexist folks.
That being said, I don't remember taking much issue with anyone outside of our esteemed Host.
Overall, I do find most of the gents here to be misogynistic. The discussion earlier showed the gents wish to shove the responsibility of pregnancy 95% on the ladies.
The Feminists, Sam in this case, really show poorly when they act like abortion is acceptable under most cases.
Have many issues with both groups, and I think both are about scum of the earth.
What part of both sides are complete POSs did you not understand?
@NobleBeing did you know I absolutely don't give a shit for arguments of which group of scumbags is better than the other?
I sure hope you are right
Russia's educated population is dying out quick. As far as the T-14, it could be great or a total piece of junk. Won't know until the Russians battle test it.
Which is?
Russia's educated population is dying out.
You have the Marxism/Communism statement backwards.
Russian education system collapsed with the wall, and was primarily male.
Problem is we are shooting a metric ass ton of carbon into the atmosphere that hasn't been there since T-Rex roamed the planet.
Might be a problem for us humans living on a planet that hot.
You act like most of those nations are better off economically post collapse.
Oh it's not getting fixed. Just hope runaway green house doesn't happen.
Agreed
You like to draw conclusions that aren't stated don't you?
Negative
I'm saying climate change will not get fixed, so I hope it's not as bad as some folks think it we are gonners.
Socialism like Capitalism has its issues. I always support some version of a mix because we have seen that highly capitalist and socialist structures don't work out well.
What governs how much you should have I have color coded on this map. The blues and greens should be more capitalist, the orange and reds more socialist.
Oh, my bad. Mis read there.
Centrists are political moderates.
Interesting. You have a lot of faith in people.
I really appreciate the insult
That's a strange combo
You're right, my mistake.
I just read your book. I'm not privy to info on the 14 but I don't doubt anything you said.
What I have heard was the Russians went defense heavy with this tank, but we won't know how good the armor is until it's deployed and shot at.
I'm pretty sure Russia's tank backbone is ment to be the T-90MS. They have continued to build the 90 family for the last 25 years.
If he can stop running people out of his collation he can easily win. However, his divide and conquer strategy cost him the house when he should have gained more seats.
If he continues to be a complete asshole, he will lose 2020 (unless the Dems run Gillibrand)
This shit isn't hard to figure out, don't piss off your allies.
He SHOULDN'T have
What is his creditals?
The dude is presiding over an awesome economy, over half of his things he set out to do done, and his opposing party in political disarray. Republicans should have swept 2018 what's a 60 seat sentate and a 300 house Congress
Best thing he missed
No one worth their salt wants the wall. Not only is it very expensively pissing into the wind, its the exact opposite of how you fix immigration
Capital invest in Central America. NAFTA brought Mexican immigration into emmigration, but CAFTA has failed to get results. Needs a revision.
That, or has quality sources
I'll take it a pinch of salt
Because information and facts are no longer used by most people to establish what is but to confirm their bias. I need to make sure your friend is not guilty of conformation bias.
USMCA doesn't effect CAFTA, it's NAFTA 1.1
Doesn't slove the problem
If the reports of what I'm hearing is correct, we might find out very soon how good the T-14 is. The Russians are moving military forces on Ukraine border again, and this time it looks like they're going to go for it.
I see alternate history is a favorite here
Again, facts can be cherry picked. Just ask FOX, CNN, or NBC.
Can't agree with you here. There's been hardly any response to Azov and the Russians want everything East of the Deneiper
You sound like the white people here who won't stop bitching about how people who don't speak our language and have the education of an eighth grader take our good jobs.
Get fucking real
I really think we need to label the debate pages debate room 1, 2, 3, excetera. We don't stay on topic with any of them.
Look, I don't know how things are in Estonia. However, here we have serious issues with people cherry-picking facts to support their point of view.
Example, Fox news last year would not shut up about the Americans giving the Persians money as part of the Iran deal. The problem here, they forgot to mention that it was the Persians fucking money!
We see shit like that here in the US, EVERYWHERE!
@beyond_gravity the dollar is the worldwide currency for exchange of goods, the Bush Jr. And Obama administrations went around freezing assets that were Persian controlled in response to their nuclear program. When the deal was signed, we agreed to give it back to them.
@beyond_gravity here was the important part about Iran, they still don't have a missile that even gets to Europe. The Americans had fuck all to worry about.
Iran has everyone in their neighborhood that they would rather fight than the Americans, that shit is not our problem.
The only time I would personally side to fight the Persians, is if they would actually go to war with Israel. Which even that is unlikely, there is four countries in the way.
They would never get to be a big enough to be problem, because before they could get there the Russians or the Indians would wipe them off the map.
The Shah got ousted in 1979
@McBacoon North Korea still isn't a problem. They still have to miniaturize a nuke and somehow get it to the Americans. And even if they do that, we have a thousand for every one they have. MAD is a thing.
@McBacoon strategically it is no concern us. If you want to pick that fight we can, but it makes no real sense that we do that.
I personally am all for helping the South Koreans, but most of my nation is not.
@beyond_gravity that is valid, see Pearl harbor. Problem, doesn't mean you can win the fight.
@beyond_gravity I'm okay with no win situations. It tends to make people out think about their problems instead of out fighting them.
@McBacoon comparing it to the USSR made my point for me, and then you try to separate it for some reason. I don't care if the North Koreans can throw a nuke, there is no way they can use it and win.
@McBacoon DOES NOT MATTER!
If they throw a nuke, they die. End of story.
@McBacoon that is nowhere near accurate, but that is fine with me. IF people are actually stupid enough to trigger Armageddon we don't deserve to exist.
@McBacoon I will respect that we don't agree, but if you want to call me or ignorant on geopolitics you can stick it straight up your ass.
The USA diplomatically fucks up almost everything it does, and you yourself said we're a bunch of dumb bastards. So try to keep some consistency next time, as calling the Americans dumb and then saying their diplomacy backs up your opinion is fucking hypocritical.
Then shut it down
I really don't think so. I'd shut down the government so you didn't get your wall
@NobleBeing depends on who makes the list. Fuck watch mojo
Biased? They just aren't anime fans
Not with Dems in the house. It's the last thing they would compromise on.
I don't think you're picking up the sentiment of the moderates or the left. The left assumes, incorrectly, the immigration is their lifeblood. The moderates are the people that can actually do math, and about 60% think it is absolutely pissing into the wind.
Some of you folks are strange
@Kenpachi wall only will benefit those who build it or patrol it. In the end it will cause a humanitarian disaster.
You are some kind of liberal, that's for sure.
Sad days
@Kenpachi Have you not seen Gaza or the Berlin Wall? Hell, Gaza has a tunnel discovery every week.
It will be a disaster because all the progress we have made in given economic mobility to Mexico will drained away. Don't build the wall, Update CAFTA and make it work. Immigration solved, permanently.
@Kenpachi you don't need to patch the holes if you remove people's desire to immigrate
@Wyatt_Earp my personal viewpoint of socialism is that it's a counterbalance to capitalism. Capitalism has some serious flaws that brought the rise of the socialists in the 1840s. However, Socialism turns out as a few problems of higher severity. This is why every country (except NK) does a mix in an attempt to get the better of both systems while mitigating their flaws. Tends to work, but you need the right balance. Some nations are better for Capitalism because of their geography, these rest need more Socialism to generate funding for their economy (blue/green needs Capitalism, orange/red needs Socialism.)
@Kenpachi roads and the wall is totally false equivalency. A few murders have crossed, but it's a drop in the bucket and absolutely not worth a trillion dollars to stop a handful of folks (sounds like Afghanistan now that I think of it.)
I wouldn't put a house within a hundred miles of the border. It's some of the worst terrain on the continent, it's why the border is there.
Yes, there is a way to stop people from wanting immigrate to the United States. They need jobs and to have happy productive lives. People don't pack up all their shit and walk thousands of miles to get here because they're happy. Look at the numbers of Mexico, more people now go from the US to Mexico than vice versa, NAFTA worked! Fix CAFTA and this problem is over.
If it wasn't for the waste and contamination issue, it would be.
@McBacoon almost every single country. Roads, education, and to a large degree healthcare are all socialized accross the world.
@McBacoon Estonia by climate would be orange, let your mess access to the Baltic would be green. Average it together you get yellow.
Yeah, climate. Building in a place that doesn't get too hot and has mild Winters is a lot cheaper than building in 105 degree rainforest, or 20 below permafrost.
Capitalism is economics via loaning, Socialism is economics via government spending. Last I checked, most countries have government funded roads and education.
@Wyatt_Earp there's a long explanation to that, but the short version is: I took each country's natural ability to generate capital versus their natural input costs.
Property rights are great for Capitalists, a natural working system.
@McBacoon upkeep mainly yes, but building does get really expensive in certain cases.
Your climate is temporate cool, which means you have long winters and short growing seasons.
In Capitalism the gdp is a mix of loan based business and consumer spending.
The definition of Socialism is so vague and so misunderstood that most people have no idea what it actually is.
@McBacoon they aren't. They are from the Central American States.
Corruption is a given anywhere you go.
Do you think I don't have money to hand out?
@McBacoon "they are already makin a reactor in France that uses uranium so it doesn't produce waste."
Did you word that wrong or do you just not have any idea what you are talking about?
@McBacoon are you kidding? Agriculture is the base building block of modern civilization. People need food, and if you have to pay for someone else's crops (from the food itself to the transportation) or grow it in house is a huge factor in where your capital goes.
@McBacoon in context if the map yes
Food isn't the only factor.
Iceland wouldn't have a leg to stand on if it wasn't part of the American security/economic alliance.
Can you grow rice?
That's true
Exactly, rice is an excellent example of how climate effects your economy. It's too cold and too short to grow rice. As far as buildings and infrastructure, you have fewer warm days and more cold days. Makes a difference.
@McBacoon oh for fuck sake, stop trying to derail the discussion with points that have no value.
Rice was an example of how climate effects you, not a statement that you need it. Fucking hell man.
@McBacoon oh for fucks sake. You're an intelligent person but you are far too stubborn to be having these conversations.
The fuck, where did my reply go? Must have lost connection. Damnit, gotta redo this...
@Wyatt_Earp Countries should never go full capitalist or socialist. I think some countries have such issues with capital they can't function realistically under Capitalism without an outside suppiler. Biggest examples are Russia, China, and Japan. Russia went into a version of State Capitalism in the 2000s because the country couldn't generate enough capital to keep the economy moving. Japan had to have an Empire just to afford feeding itself, if not for them being part of the American economic/security alliance, they would starve.
Production is indeed better under Capitalism. Capitalism effectively runs on autopilot, while Socialism has to be managed. It's why the USSR fell apart but China didn't. USSR put so much into military buildup they forgot to leave anything for bread and milk. China went State Capitalist and became an export nation.
@Wyatt_Earp agreed on health care.
If there is an overall point that I have to make, the biggest difference between a capitalist country and a socialist country is how they handle their banking and finance. If you have to continue to print money to keep the system running, you'll be running as State Capitalist. If you can simply tax some commerce and throw a few regulations in, you have Interventionism.
@McBacoon yeah, fusion is a hell lot better than fission.
@beyond_gravity you wanker. It's not the effectiveness of the wall that I have an issue with. It's the fact that you could fight the desire for people to immigrate here in the first place. It's like a doctor treating the symptom, but not the disease. It's f****** stupid.
@McBacoon and remind us why the markets fell off?
The Nordic countries are hard to place on the spectrum. But I would say it's more capitalistic by the fact they don't have to shove money through the system to make it work.
Read the conversation above. You give the Central Americans economic opportunities and jobs, they will stay there. People don't get up and walk thousands of miles to a land that speaks a different language because they're happy. It worked in Mexico, it will work for the rest.
@beyond_gravity control is not the point.
What happened to Mexico is they got NAFTA. Huge amount of American investment money came in and helped them build factories, schools, and services.
There is now over a trillion dollars worth of trade that goes back and forth across that border. And Mexico has been one of the fastest growing economies the last 10 years. Is there a second world country, nothing like what the media would like you to think.
The problem for Central America is, CAFTA failed because it wasn't implemented correctly. Give it a revision and years to work, immigration will no longer be an issue for the Americans.
@McBacoon that's a well made point
@McBacoon Norway regulates the holy hell out of their economy. But I'm pretty sure they don't print money Non-Stop to give it to their Central Bank to loan out (Iike Russia or China.)
Agreed with everything except the recovery of Russia. I don't think Russia could have recovered as a capitalist country. The upkeep costs are just too damn high.
@beyond_gravity yeah, is that stupidly simple. The problem is we picked the wrong people to invest in (China being number 1.)
Things here at home or going to get problematic for investments, but come 2035 we'll have plenty of money to invest again.
@beyond_gravity I'm not sold on that part. I love nuclear, but I do recognize its dangers.
1) They haven't asked as far as I am aware.
2) They have a strong anti-american group in their politics.
