Has anyone here done RCIA ? If so what was your experience ?

I asked my priest(fssp) about the sin of apostasy and automatic excommunication. Apprently because I hadn't done a public renounciation (joining islam, freemasonry or being a militant athiest are the examples he listed) the absolution I received during confession was enough

@Scooter2000 I really don't know for sure, I'll ask him about it more later. I told him I saw myself as non-catholic and that all my friends/family and acquaintances saw me as such...

He did ask the bishop and responded with "apparently" this is how it works.

Still not receiving the eucharist anytime soon so I have more than enough time to really look into it

Douay-Rheims is a good translation for the bible

I am reading the Douay Rheims currently and I wouldn't consider a"harder read" compared to another translation. I'm not sure I underatand what you mean by that @Mephisto

I tried reading the vulgate with an English translation but my understanding of Latin is bad and so I couldn't retain any information (lacked flow I guess)

why chose that over a regular cross?

I always love seeing nice crosses, mine at the moment is a simple wooden one
