@Dusty Morgan Nothing is really free. And as Robt Heinlein said, nothing given for free has any value.
@Misomania The problem with identity politics is that you can keep fracturing groups of people into smaller and smaller groups based upon their subtle differences until you eventually arrive at a group of ONE. The individual. And that is what Western culture figured out hundreds of years ago. That is why in the West the individual is sovereign.
@Dusty Morgan Death is free. And the socialist should understand that given the piles of corpses they stack up everytime they get into power.
Why is that flag less offensive than a Swastika? Because 60 million dead is more noble than 8 million?
@Misomania Yeah, if you include Mao and the rest. I was just referring to the Soviets.
@Tinytim They were all murdered for the same idea, identity politics. Remember Mao invented PC.
@Misomania The numbers are unknown. I usually stick with 60 million because that prevents them from claiming I'm inflating it. But after tens of millions I think the point is made, don't you?
@Misomania I agree. Whether its 60 million or 160 million, it should be a sufficient amount of corpses to convince any reasonable person that Marx's ideas don't need any more "testing."
@Ranko Never use google.
@Misomania I've never heard it explained better than this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXBjVau1w7Y
@Paradox I don't think you are doing it right. ๐
@Paradox If your having sex is leading to your death then again, you're not doing it right.
@Paradox Be advised. Some of my comments include sarcasm. The rest have ponies.
@Paradox Did the missionaries never visit your homeland? See that's sarcasm.
@Tinytim Good luck. And remember, don't trust whitey.
Sorry, its, "God loves a working man and never trust whitey." Steve Martin -- The Jerk circa 1985.
So is all of Monty Python just a hate crime now?
That video has over 250k views.
Dammit, now I've got to go watch that one too. And then the Cheese Shop, and then No one expects the Spanish Inquisition. .... I'm going to be up all night. thanks รbama.
@Misomania I didn't hear that. Why? Because of brexit?
@Misomania Good for him. But hey you're getting back your drug dealing rapper, 21 savage.
Of course, I was calling him Black-Jack Savage and got kicked off Twitter.
@Misomania Hmmm. BTW, how come when you post a link it shows me the video but when I posted one it didn't?
ah
Well just wash your hands before you touch your eyes.
@Undead Mockingbird That's cool. I was once tasked with writing an ebcidic to ascii converter so I just ripped the code from the FTP utility of a linux distro. Good programmers copy from other programmers. Great programmers steal from them outright!
@Undead Mockingbird Basically its how text is stored on the mainframe, the mainframe equivalent to ascii.
I may have typed it wrong, EBCDIC I think.
@Misomania That's like all those who think "white hunters" were scouring Africa for slaves when most slaves were sold by other African tribesmen because they were the defeated in tribal wars.
The U.S. Navy was basically created to deal with North African slavers who were taking American sailors as slaves. Read Six Frigates by Ian Toll. It's a great story if you are interested in that sort of thing.
@Witan Slavery is bad. But the U.S. didn't invent. Slavery was introduced to America by England who outlawed it at home because their workers were complaining about losing their jobs. And we were hardly the last to outlaw it. It still goes on in Africa and the Middle East today.
@Undead Mockingbird And given the choice of who you sent into a swamp to risk being eaten by aligators you sent in the White indentured servant because he was only good for 7 years and you didn't own his offspring.
@Misomania Jessie Jackson said he'd like to cut รbama's nuts off because he was not the descent of slaves. And he's never been heard from again.
Who are you calling "all?" I am not an all. I am an individual. Note the preceding post may contain elements of sarcasm. Thank you.
Oh, I'm sorry. I haven't felt this uncomfortable since my boss asked me to take a look at his computer because his keyboard was "sticky."
Does John Baphomet talk about himself in the 3rd person?
It's late. I'm bored. And I can't shake the idea that the U.S. gov't spent $1 billion on NOAA to predict the weather and were less accurate than the Famer's Alamanac which cost $15.
I went thru a period like that. You get thrust into management and after a couple of years you've lost your coding skills. Never again.

@MrORANGE Never forget that รbama was a NOBODY. He was hand picked in 2004 to run for the U.S. Senate. He served 2 years before running for President. He never did anything in the legislature. The Dems went back and added his name to several bills to give him some cover. But in 2 years AOC will have more experience than รbama before he ran for the White House.
@Undead Mockingbird That depends if you like chocolate or beer.
@Swedishmafia101 But, but, but with all those guns Switzerland must have the highest rates of school shootings and homicide in the world, right? ๐
@Undead Mockingbird Venezuela solve the problem of children dying of starvation in their hospitals. The arrested any doctor who listed "starvation" as the cause of death.
@Marcus_Summers I'll be honest with you. I have believed that Jones is just "playing" a character, the Over-the-top Internet Conspiracy Theorist. And I've seen nothing in all these years to convince me that it is not all just an act.
@Undead Mockingbird It will be the new "dog whistle" for every racist in America...which will only be heard by Democrats. Is there something we're missing?
@Witan But you understand what I'm saying? Democrats are forever identifying some innocuous meme and claiming it is a dog-whistle to get the attention of racists. But Democrats are the only ones who can hear it.
@Witan Remember when Newt Gingrich was called a racist for calling รbama the "food stamp" president because more people were on food stamps under his presidency than every before? Then Gingrich asked why they would think he was talking about black people and they responded, because racists think all blacks are on foodstamps. Checkmate.
@Undead Mockingbird It's like the Jonny Cash song, A Boy Named Sue. It's guaranteed to produce someone who can fight.
I was arguing about Global Warming on another board and in the process discovered an interesting article that claimed excess CO2 is actually repairing the holes in the Ozone Layer. Funny how that didn't get any attention at all. I'm old enough to remember when the holes in the Ozone Layer was going kill us all with melanoma before we turned 20.
@Undead Mockingbird Nope. Nor were they convinced that skepticism is the appropriate response when fabrications, mistakes and out-right fraud is exposed almost every time the UN produces a "climate report." Like when they claimed that the US was spending more money on storm repair every year when their numbers came from "speculation" and the actual numbers spent on storm damage had be going down for over a decade.
@Salacious Swanky Cat Sure, but if you want a good keynote to talk about at your Climate Panel to demonstrate the IMMEDIATE costs of global warming then what better than to talk about the cost of storm damage cleanup?
Which is exactly what they all did. Then when it was exposed as another hoax the UN claimed it was a minor piece of their report and was in no way an indication of the validity of their other claims.
รbama ended all manned space flight programs but increased NASA's budget. What for? To provide scientific evidence of global warming. Not to prove or disprove since that debate was settled by Al Gore. But simply to provide evidence to support the theory. Want to guess what the bureaucrats at NASA found? You guessed it. Scientific proof of global warming. And their budget increase was extended.
@Khanclansith I read the Population Bomb when I was in H.S. It predicted that billions would be dead and whole countries like England would be gone by the year 2000. Population density may be a minor problem but population is not. Every man, woman and child on the planet could be housed in a single story, 1000 sq foot, house and the space require would be less than the State of Texas. And we only farm about 1/4 of the total available farmland.
@Khanclansith Sure, that's why the best thing we could do for Africa is to provide them with coal fired electricity. When AOC talks about the world ending in 12 yrs due to climate change someone should ask her that given the US and other Western countries have reduced their CO2 emmissions for the past 2 decades is she advocating a military strike against China or India first?
@mordecai1987 Not sure about Africa. I know there were fewer murders on the streets of Baghdad than Chicago when American troops were there.
@Tinytim Do you believe CO2 emmisions by the US have not been declining for the past 20 years? OK, 14 years. I stand corrected. "According to the 2017 BP Statistical Review of World Energy, since 2005 annual U.S. carbon dioxide emissions have declined by 758 million metric tons. That is by far the largest decline of any country in the world over that timespan and is nearly as large as the 770 million metric ton decline for the entire European Union." https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2017/10/24/yes-the-u-s-leads-all-countries-in-reducing-carbon-emissions/#66211a053535
@Tinytim No problem. It's easy to hate on America. And its easy to envy our standard of living. But we've done a lot of good for the world including the billions living in free countries that would not be otherwise. Did you know when the tsunami hit Indonesia that the American people, not the gov't, but private donations raised over $1 billion for relief?
@Tinytim That's a common theme. Take a look at the Chicago Flood of 1992. Bureaucrats knew for over a year that the tunnels which ran throughout the downtown area had been damaged by a piling but kept kicking the issue between one dept or another until the tunnel collapsed, flooded the downtown, shutdown the entire city, including the Chicago Board of Trade and cost billions.
@Tinytim In one of his best novels, Starship Troopers, Robt Heinlein discussed, rule by scientists or experts. What he concluded was that scientists or experts are no less self serving than any other group of individuals. What one needs for good governance are people trained to think of the survival of the group over their own selfish interests and individuals held directly responsible for their actions and failures.
@TwinVickers Would you prefer rule by the Divine Right of Kings? How about by a council of Barons? Or perhaps a theocracy of priests?
@Cody Not possible unless you are prepared to stand guard 24/7 to ensure that someone does not bash in your skull to take your things, or that the neighboring tribe does not cross your border and take your land, or that all disputes are decided by who survives the fight to the death. There must be a gov't to protect your borders, protect you from your neighbors and provide courts so that you and I can settle our disputes without resorting to violence.
@Cody Not true. Everyone needs borders or do you open your home to everyone who wishes to squat there and eat your food?
@Cody I'm not going to call you a liar, but I suspect you are not telling me the truth.
@Cody How about the mere lazy? Are you ok slaving away to provide them food? Without borders how do you prevent them from taking what you have?
Rogan's show starts in about 30 minutes, right?
Didn't Tim say Rogan cancelled on him twice before?
Once again it is proved that something given for free has no value. ๐
The <#463057194456317962> said "It seems like" Tim would be Rogan's guest. Take that for its worth.
I think he was an actor first, News Radio.
@taekahn Too much cultural appropriation on St. Paddy's Day.
@Tornzy If NATO protects Europe from exterior threats, who will the EU Army protect Europe from? People in yellow vests?
Without pay differentials how would we determine who gets to marry the supermodels? or gets to live in beachfront property?
Taxing millonares at 70% only makes sense if that money is kept in their mattress, but since it is invested and already in use, all the tax does is pull that money out of the private sector and put it in the hands of bureaucrats.
When your gov't runs a $200-$500 billion deficit there is no "excess" to redistribute.
@Eastern Roman Empire No monopoly can exist without the tacit or direct influence of gov't.
@Eastern Roman Empire Ask me sometime why we use to have 5,000 cell phone companies and now there are only 3.
Youtube had a trending monitized music video of a black man and child hanging a white CHILD and demonitized any video that showed clips of it with commentary as "not ad friendly."
If twitter applied the same rules to the left as they do the right, everyone calling someone a nazi would receive the same penalty as someone calling people the n-word.
@EndangeredProdigy I guarantee you, calling someone a nazi is backed by the same hatred as calling someone the n-word. If intent matters then it matters.
@EndangeredProdigy If hate speech is a "real thing" then how is calling someone a nazi not hate speech.
Milo doesn't need "redemption' from the likes of Jack Dorsey.
Twitter allows lots of racist extremists. They are all just anti-white.
@Tinytim Russia didn't care who won as long as the media would call them illegit. Russia got what they wanted.
@Skeptisk Unity is a strength.
@Unwound Yeah, its the "negative income tax" I believe.
@Tinytim Dorsey will LOVE it if the gov't regulates him. Then he has official sanction to operate without fear of lawsuits and protection of his monopoly from competition.
@Unwound Because who is going to write the regulations? They gov't will probably hire a lot of Twitter and FB employees to work for the agency since they will have the expertise.
@Tinytim Not really, the gov't can't force you to fund their campaigns, hire your relatives or give you a job once they are out of office. They can only convince you to do these things if you cooperate with them.
What do you think will be the effect on the campaign contributions from FB, Twitter execs and employees once the gov't is writing regulations for those companies?
@Unwound There used to be 5-10k cell phone companies in the U.S. Now there are 3. Why? Gov't regulation. The big boys ask the gov't to require 911 services. Those smaller companies that could not raise the money to provide it or would not be profitable if they did had to sell out to those who could. Then it was text mesg. Then internet access. Then high speed internet access. Until now there are only 3 and soon to be 2. But you can't call it a monopoly because AT&T and Verizon are "competitors." I mean there is literally only 2 channels allowed in a given area. If you were to try to start a cell phone company you'd still have to rent time on one of the big 2's networks.
@Tinytim No monopoly can exist without government force. If it is profitable to compete then someone will. Only the gov't has the ability to create arbitrary expenses that would prevent competition.
@H3llbender Just look for when they are showing the photo of the swat team and the OK hand symbol.
@Tinytim Dude yes it is possible for a company to manipulate prices like Standard Oil did. But when they do that the customer benefits because he's getting the product a price just above the cost to create. Standard Oil made MORE money than ever after they were broken up because they were free to raise prices.
@Unwound I'm singularly unimpressed with mindreaders who claim they know people's intentions. Remember all the people who opposed integrated schools were racists. That includes Thomas Sowell and Joe Biden.
Sowell opposed forced integration of schools.
@Unwound That's jamie's logic. Jamie KNOWS that the OK symbol is a racist dog whistle because when Jamie sees it he HEARS THE WHISTLE. What does that make Jamie.
@crowbot Joe isn't so bad. I think he tries to be a good interviewer like Johnny Carson was. He plays this guy whose just trying to understand the other guy. He doesn't always get it right but I don't think he's trying to get it wrong.
