You boys wanna see my dope P320 setup?

2020-04-18 17:19:03 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

51+1 in a holsterable sidearm. Can still use Irons underneath the RDS. Brace is spring loaded and screams out with the push of a level. My fucking noob ass can make a 3-6 inch group at 50 yards.

** lever

2020-04-18 17:19:51 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Fucking amazing. I was one of the first fifty to get one.

2020-04-18 17:20:26 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Had to do a little dremeling to get the x-5 to drop in and get the trigger to work right, but the dudes in Utah helped me out

2020-04-18 17:21:04 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

I won't lie, it's a bit like carrying a .50 DEagle on your hip, but it's worth it.

2020-04-18 17:21:15 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

It's just small enough to be carryable everyday.

2020-04-18 17:22:24 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

I've always sucked dick with pistols. Had a 1911, could not qualify with my militia group to carry it. Could not do a 3 inch group at 11 yards to save my life. The MP17 pushes your accuracy out to minimally 50 yards.

2020-04-18 17:22:55 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Far enough at least that you have to start factoring in bullet drop.

2020-04-18 17:23:12 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

This is coming from someone with seriously low skill with pistols.

2020-04-18 17:23:53 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

> I assume you open carry it?
@thedarkness05

Oh yeah, the holster is an extra $200, but totally worth it. It's phenominal.

2020-04-18 17:24:19 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

You can always throw it on a sling too.

2020-04-18 17:24:41 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Pretty much, yeah, at 50yrds, it's time to grab your AR/AK

2020-04-18 17:26:24 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

> The absolute best way to get better at shooting handguns is to #1 Dry fire practice every day and #2 Shoot USPSA or IDPA competitions as often as possible. Sauce: A guy who's a hell of a lot better with pistols than he is with rifles
@Bard
What?? Lmao, dude, I feel like rifles are the easiest thing in the world. Like I start every new to guns friend on an AR-15. They always ask, "Shouldn't I start on a pistol?" and I'm like, "Pistols are hard and recoil more"

2020-04-18 17:28:15 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

I gotcha man. I'm not trash talking or anything. Most people would run circles around me with a conventional pistol.

2020-04-18 17:29:43 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

There aren't even any competitions/tactical training ranges around me and it's killing me. I'm in VA FFS, the "home of the NRA". I have to build or find a local with a range.

2020-04-18 17:30:31 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

The only ranges are static indoor/outdoor things. Ain't no run and gun.

2020-04-18 17:32:50 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

By the way, can anyone recommend some good hot weather multicam pants? I work outdoors in seriously ugly terrain. Thorns, swamps, climbing, crawling. Seriously strenous on clothing. I've got some BDUs, but they're ungodly hot in the summer.

2020-04-18 17:33:59 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

If they're super thin but durable, like they won't fall apart under stress, but don't burn me up in 100 degree stupid humid weather, I'll pay whatever the price is.

2020-04-18 17:34:54 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

I'd pay upwards of $200-$300 if they're sturdy and cool enough

2020-04-18 17:35:40 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

They have hot weather models?

2020-04-18 17:36:40 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Good point... I've never served, so part of me just always assumed the military just liked torturing them with ungodly warm clothes.

2020-04-18 17:37:52 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #meat]

Daddy squid, feed me.

2020-04-18 17:40:04 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Yeah, I just found that. I've always used google to search, I have no idea why this never came up.

2020-04-19 04:58:43 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Launch the fucking minuteman IIIs at China, shotgun a few thousand warheads over their country.

2020-04-19 05:27:56 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Fuck the gAyTF

I think I might have actually already had it. Was in HK on 1/21/20. Got a really fast sickness. Sore throat, headache, drainage, cough. Gave it to my girlfriend. Wasn't super bad, gone in a few days.

Was surrounded by coughing chinese people in the airport on the way out. Didn't know until it was too late.

Was fucking wild. By the time I was on the plane out of HK, it hit fast and hard. Pressure difference gave me a migraine so bad I was crying in front of strangers. Was totally fine when I landed like 2 hours later.

Then I just had drainage and a semi nasty cough when I landed. Girlfriend got it from me, took her a day or two to get it from me, we both recovered from whatever we had within like 3-4 days.

Yeah, we're both young and healthy, so if I did actually have it, it was a breeze. But I've heard some of the horror stories from people who got hit hard.

2020-04-26 18:26:39 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Quick legal question.

2020-04-26 18:28:21 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Is one allowed to possess a low shelf LR, a FA LPK w/ sear, and a no-no pin jig, so long as the third pin hole is not marked or drilled?

2020-04-26 18:29:57 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

But for posting purposes. Are fed bois gonna boot my door if I post up photos and it gets linked back to me.

2020-04-26 18:30:40 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

VA, home of the almost boog.

2020-04-26 18:31:33 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Up until recently, extremely pro gun state. We don't have anything extra about MGs.

2020-04-26 18:33:16 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

My basic understanding has been that legally, I can have all the parts, jigs, etc, put together, with the jig even on the LR, ready to go in a vice, but as long as I don't drill the third hole, they can't touch me.

2020-04-26 18:35:22 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Cool. I keep hearing conflicting answers, entirely from fudds, that owning just the LPK is a crime, or the jig as well. But that doesn't make any fucking sense because anyone can buy one.

2020-04-30 15:45:31 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Anyone here ever fuck around with 300 magnum rifles? I've got an SOP I'm working on with the idea of pulling M2AP bullets from 30-06 and seating them on something like 300 win mag, 300 WBY, 300 RUM, etc.

2020-04-30 15:46:24 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

The goal being, reliably defeating level IV cermic plates.

2020-04-30 15:47:27 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

As long as I can put a retardedly strong hit through a 10x12 plate at less than 300-400 yards, I'd be happy.

2020-04-30 15:50:32 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

@Bard I saw that one, it seemed like the 300 win mag is just barely getting it through there. I was thinking about doing either 300 RUM or 300 WBY. I'm thinking RUM just to make sure it penetrates no matter what, burning out the barrel be damned. The SOP for a boojahideen force is putting down an armored opponent through a plate carrier. You're not shooting this platform for fun. You zero the fucking thing, and leave it for when it's needed to put in work.

2020-04-30 15:51:41 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

I mean, you could always go .50BMG like I did, but it's not reasonable to shoot and scoot with.

2020-04-30 15:52:12 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

That's more of an emplaced anti-material/anti-armor gun.

2020-04-30 15:53:07 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

@Bard I looked at norma briefly, but I got the impression it was kind of underpowered compared to RUM or WBY

2020-04-30 15:53:32 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

the magnum rifle game is totally new to me though, so I could be wrong.

2020-04-30 15:55:40 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

@Bard I'm fairly certain a .338 lead core round is not going to defeat a ceramic plate carrier in a single hit. You need tungsten or tool steel in the core. You could try making your own bullets, but from what I've seen, the only easy option is pulling .30-06 M2AP bullets and reseating them in a more powerful round.

2020-04-30 15:56:17 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #general]

Roger.

2020-04-30 15:57:11 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

So, any idea if it's even possible to get tungsten or TS core bullets anymore? I'm pretty sure it's federally banned except for existing shit.

2020-04-30 15:57:54 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

Right, mostly. But a component of that is still composition. 223 WSSM isn't going to penetrate a ceramic plate, I don't think it will at least.

2020-04-30 15:58:33 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

Well, it might be more mass going at speed, than composition going at speed to defeat armor.

2020-04-30 15:59:59 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

Really? I've seen a .50 cal rated ceramic plate eat an FMJ and the BFD looked definitely unpleasant, but it didn't look like it'd knock you out or kill you. Just rock your world for a second.

2020-04-30 16:04:07 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

It might definitely crack a smaller bone, but I don't think it would instantly incapacitate an opponent who was dedicated.

2020-04-30 16:05:57 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

I know for fabricating new projectiles, you could technically harden nails or something and drilling a hole in the tip of the bullets, but you're gonna have to melt the led to fit the projectile and I get the feeling the whole concept would be retardedly inaccurate if it doesn't just blow out your barrel.

2020-04-30 16:07:39 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

Actually, I saw the 300 win mag AP round that didn't penetrate do considerably deeper BFD than that .50, but then again, that video's clay was cold, so it might be way less worse than it's supposed to be.

2020-04-30 16:08:41 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

lmao, true, definitely illegal, but if you're shooting at someone wearing a ceramic plate, you've probably already dropped all regard for what's legal and what's not.

2020-04-30 16:10:37 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

the legality of it is also why I'm looking at specifically centering around the M2AP projectiles. I can have it around and not break any laws.

2020-04-30 16:10:58 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

Hmm... Yeah, true.

2020-04-30 16:11:48 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

My point with the .50 BMG video was that I don't think absorbing a .338 mag to the plate is going to incapacitate an opponent.

2020-04-30 16:12:21 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

Yeah... I can't find ANY videos online with anything other than .300 Win Mag m2ap.

2020-04-30 16:12:51 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

So I guess this is kind of uncharted territory in the civilian gun world.

2020-04-30 16:14:06 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

Between Norma, RUM, and WBY, which do you think is the least likely to get abandoned and become scare to source cases for?

2020-04-30 16:14:20 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

** scarce

2020-04-30 16:14:58 UTC [P A T R I O T wave #weapons]

Yeah... RUM is already expensive for ammo. Like it costs more to feed than my .50
