And we can see, firsthand, that whether or not something (or someone) is technically capable of *actually* being that thing the man desires or being “good enough”, in the philosophical sense, is inconsequential.

Dolls are “good enough”, even though we know they’re inanimate objects incapable of actual emotional reciprocation. Doesn’t really matter. Women *used to be* good enough, at least as a general rule, I think.
