How *did* those ideologues become so far reaching...
The whole idea of porn being "not safe for work" is awfully discriminatory.
Some people work in porn industry, you know.
Y'all are radical moderatists.
The only way to coexist.
I prefer elective autism. Then I can regulate my tism levels as situation demands.
It is a sad truth that you need to become authoritarian to defeat totalitarians.
Or you can be like a good Lithuanian and continue the 800 year old tradition of burning yourself alive in protest ;D
Language is also a model of reality.
Mathematics deal in very abstract and universal concepts that also need a language to convey and be understood. Human brain runs entirely on a binary system of electrochemical sygnals.
In that sense, maths is both larger than language and fully contained within language - among other things like emotion, philosophy or memories - simultaneously.
But it is not a language. Too abstract, not directly perceivable by senses. People don't convey meaning through mathematics to each other. They convey the meaning of mathematics to each other through languages.
I suppose, music and painting would be considered languages then, but that seems alright to me.
I'm overthinking shit, ain't I.
Physics is a model of reality.
Maths is a model of logic.
On reality, yes.
And never tell that to a physicist.
;D
I think it wants to warn me of something...
Where was I? Right.
Maths deals in too many abstract concepts to be considered a model of only reality. Otherwise, what are imaginary numbers. Negative numbers, even! Those only exist in our mind as logically possible. Also maybe in some deep-ass particle physics.
Do tell.
I like when people explain things.
In a sane view, those things should not exist, but I know full well not to trust my common sense.
Oh, I see.
It's for when you're dealing with a number that you desperately want to continue calling negative, even if it's just as positive, only in the opposite direction.
Please don't burn me for heresy.
;D
You fucking anti-free speech bots.
But I bet imaginary numbers as a concept were created way before they could be applied anywhere.
Please tell me when it manages to predict a complex system.
That would be very useful.
Why do you even ask when you know what I mean?
Math models simple interactions well. There are too many interactions in a complex system to account for them all.
I seem to remember something about a completely sealed space with as few as three objects interacting with each other being basically unpredictable. Granted, that might have been a load of bullshit.
I'm sorry.
If I misunderstood something.
I really try, but I'm a doctor, not a mathematician ;D
One that just graduated literally yesterday, so not much ;D
Thank you.
I do plan on pediatrics though.
It is. I'm a big fan, but never had the money or the community to play tabletop.
Fucking Lithuania. We say it's in the geographical middle of Europe, but nobody seems to care.
No no no, not that.
I meant my country isn't very relevant in the international community of countries.
Here, I'm just a lurking newfag.
True. It's kind of nice, no refugees want to stay here because no money and too cold.
Those that stay usually turn out to be the ones that care.
Russians still have Latvia and Belarus to annex before getting to us, so that's like 20 years of peace probably.
What a time to be alive <:covfefe:440543908846632980>
Such optimism... You must be American.
Yes. Is that bad?
I've thought about it, decided it'd be too much hassle ;D
Stereotypes are fun.
I'm afraid this globalisation is irreversible.
But maybe, if brexit works out.
Maybe...
