I mean management isn't bad in principle. I GMed the Pathfinder Kingmaker Campaign and my group loved the Town and Kingdom management part. But it was in doses, only once an ingame month so only once in normaly three sessions (ecept in ingame winter, when they didn't go exploring, then we made several months of ruling at once ). Just make sure they are finde with the amount of number crunching and that the seacombat rules won't slow down the combat even more and that managing the ship and crew is a good roleplaying experience too and not only dry number shuffeling.

Give officers and some crew a nice NPC story and background and have their story have impact on the ship and the players, like one of the officers is hunted by his former pirate captain and now this guy focusses his anger on your ship and crew. bam, instant story hook ๐Ÿ˜›

And yes survival rules are often overlooked, but I too reserve them for special events or plots, like when they are cat away in the desert or sth. For standart we walk through the forest situations I for most ignore them, except hunting for some food and campsite building, which can trigger random encounters.

@Nordhand Yes, mutation rate on specific reptiles is very high. The Komodovaran especially. A lone female arriving at a new island can lay an unfertilized batch of eggs. they all hatch as males and the female can mate with this offspring. And because of their high mutation rate, this can produce a stable selfsustaining population without the more dangerous problems other species would have through inbreeding.

I liked the ovens for cooking classes at the school where i learned, Gas and Induction

Put anything you do on video, record everything, driving to date, date, driving home, recording the nice hot coffe.

All with her consent of course

and if she doesn't want to be recorded, she is free to go home

Best deal for both, you get a copy, she gets a copy, and ebrybody has proof of what happened.

Including proof of the consent for evry thrust

And she can even bring her own camera, just to be sure

You know, the punishments for blaming someone of a false crime should be higher and be enforced more strict

You don't know if it is false or not

but you don't go in with the mindset that the accuser has to be right because she is a women

You take it seriously and do a good and honest job investigating it. It's hard to do sometimes but you have to try not to get biased in a case

agressive plants are the nemeis of my GF and her RP characters

If anyone gets the evil plants, it's her

quartering and dawnforgecast have good videos about it. tl:dr - someone in the roll20 reddit postetd a fairly long critique of stuff he thought doesn't work well and the designers felt pissed off by this and blocked his account because of reasons. Well the user was not amused by this and said this is a misunderstanding, he is innocent and if his account is not reinstated to the end of mounth he will quit his roll20 account and will always remind people of how bad roll20 as a company is. Well this did not go well with roll20, they pissed on him and the community. AND the community pissed back as it seems, because roll20 did a real big backpaddle suddenly and reinstated the guys account. It seems a lot of people quit their accounts in protest and they did get a lot of flak from influancial channels.

One can sum it up in the category of: How not to do public relations or how not do run a company

especially if you do a nieche product for a nieche audience

Nah it's fine, you have to talk it off sometimes or it eats you up inside

I like a quote from StarTrek TNg where Picard said to little punk Wesley: "You can do as hard as you can, prepare as much as you want and still fail. That's no unfair ... that' just life"

Yes the whole Kavanaugh thing is a farce.

Didn't they do hypnosis with her ? This would mess it even up more.

And that's why both are not allowed in a court as evidence

rightfuly

That's the problem with all the shit right now, SJWs, feminism, the new extreme left, they all cry about those people they say they care about, but in the end, these people are just tools to them

to make money, to get what they want, to push a political agenda

it's politics 101

And that's the sad/infuriating part about it, she needs help but can't and perhabs never will get it, because she is now part of this ideoligical machine, that needs her as she is to further contnue on the way it goes and it is not allowed to stop

But this will not happen. These people can never say that they were wrong. Because they think of themselves they are right and always will be right

And so this woman will never see the help she needs, because she can't be allowed to, because then someone has to say "oh shit, we were wrong the whole time". and I can't see this coming from those zaelots

Well year long sexual abuse by a family member is a reason for PTSD I think

Perhabs ... but man, that stuff about memories and what to do to get back to it was fucking interesting ๐Ÿ‘

Yeah, I'm not from the US, but I can't wait to see this bite the Democrats in the ass somewhere in the future

Sometime this will hit them back like it did Asia Argento

Well, he definetly got a point there

well, he is wrong partly

the dems don't have real leaders right now XD

at least no leading figure that could speak for them all

these people are so crooked and corrupt and do evrthing to reach their goal and step on and over everybody and anything to get there ... they can't think different anymore, they have to assume evrybody is as they are

And they can't back down an inch or they will be labeled as taitors to the cause and lose anything they achieved and will be replaced with an other faithfull

Especially if there is a Bill Clinton looming on the Horizon again XD

IT IS ART, WHAT DO YOU KNOW REEEEEEE

yeah, it is lazy, but there is a lot of cheap lazy anime out there too

man this looks positively deliscious

have to make on next week for myself and my gf now XD

I really like Ramirez ๐Ÿ˜›

Oh yeah, I forgot that, that was such a boneheaded move. As someone who sells stuff to people, this made a part of me scream inside

W T F oO

there are a lot of metamagic feeds and I think one of them lets you prolong spell duration. Pushes the spell one spellslot higher in exchange

In Pathfinder it's Extended Spell Metamagic Feat, doubles the time a spell lasts

Made some deluscious Miso for the Missus and me

@ITS HE-MA'AM Do not belittle my spoons ! they are my favorite way of cultural apropriation ... because it involves food ๐Ÿ˜›

It's like audible ordering a steak after the hippie on the next table ordered his vegan gluten and lactose free carb and sugar reduced soy meal

Well ... politicians are opportune creatures if nothing else ๐Ÿค”

we will see how long he sees #meetoo as positive when someone accuses him of sexual assault

Well I said it before and I say it now: Do not trust the Chinese ... like ever

@Nordhand I once saw a documentary about UFOs, where they tested the bility of eyewitnesses to remember and describe the details of something they saw. They showed them something flying by on a projector screen with a landscape. They saw it for 2 or 3 seconds and after that they had to draw it. Nearly all of the "Witnesses" drew something different from each other. And that was minutes after they saw it.

And I read somewhere that dreams alter your longterm memory and that evrytime you actively remember something, there is a possibility, that your brain changes the memory a bit and over time details get lost or wrong.

@radeon But ... Is it okay to shit on the floortiles ?

Because the sign is not very clear, it says I can't shit on the carpet, but what about the tiles in the hall ? Is it okay to shit there ? And I know I can shit in the street like a mere pleb, but his hall looks more comforting.

Mmmh just had a short twitter encounter/discussion with Bill Prady, producer of that awful BigBangTheory show. does this make me twitter famous ?

@INNร˜S OMG This is so fucking sad and hilarious at the same time

@M4Gunner damn ...

what if he blocks me ?

If anyone needed proof of what a criminal regime SaudiArabia is, proof may have come up in turkey

Anyone else here playing the Pathfinder Kingmaker PC-Game ?

First law of Thermodynamics: you don't talk abaout the Thermodynamics !

What about fuck you Rockstar Games

What about: you don't have to hire more peeps if your developers are ready to work 100h weeks because "it's the gameindustrie and that's what you do in the game industrie" ? <:thronk:441701565607444482>

Of course they have, they love the game, they do it with passion. This work is so much fun for them, they should be thankful to Rockstar for allowing them to qork crunch on this game

This reminds me of the guy at Ubisoft, when it came out that they had to do a LOT of crunch. He said evrybody worked their asses off except him. He only did the standard stuff because the crunch wasn't mandatory and they didn't really get compensation. He went home after shift to his family and evryone hated him for it. And afterwards they closed the team and he got the laugh at the end

But the problem is in the system itself. Of course you should do overtime if it is nescessary and important. But when it becomes the norm and you always have to do "voluntary" overtime and everyone sees it as "normal", and your crunch is something you shall be proud of, then your industire has a serious problem and you have mismanagement in your company.

No, the problem is, that the companies are using the passion of the creators against them. they can push the "crunch" on the creative team, because they like what they do, the do it because they have a creative passion for their work. And if the creators try to publicly stand up against this abuse, they risk to get branded as persona non grata. and that's a really big problem in the industrie

I said I remember in the article, that he said they were not compansated, id dindn't meant they are not compansated by all companies. I'am sorry if this was not clear and it came out wrong

I just think, that a work condition, that lets you work for 16 hours a day, 7 days in a row, for weeks is a good thing

The guys on the cotton fields did too

nah, not really, slaves had it better ... just kidding of course

If you love doing it, and want do do it and can do it it's fine, I won't stop anyone. But when you have working conditions that end with a class action lawsuit and a 30 million dollar settlement, than you know your industrie has problems

Here's a thing, the industrie can use normal working standards and try to hold up to them

So ... the only way to stop the crunch is for the creators to say, they won't crunch anymore, but they can't so this, because the companies got them in the sack ?

Then your only chance is to hop from company to company and look for the ones that don't rely on excessive overtime to do their shit ? wonderful ...

Normal overtime, yes, nescessary overtime yes, have to do it every year at all the holidays. prolongued extreme overtime. Definetively no.

Oftopic: I am AFK buying food an cooking, will be back later. Not fleeing the coversation XD

Yes, but if the project manager manages the project so bad that the deadlines regularly can only be achieved by excessive prolonged overtime ... then the project manager did a bad job in my opinion

Yes. But if you know from the start that your deadline depends on excessive overtime and will not ver be finished without it, then your deadline is wrong or you have too few people working at it. or both.

maybe, but then it's your job as projectmanager to reign in your workers to do their job. Tha'ts why you have "milestones" and a timetable for your project. And if you can put your finger on the workers and really say it's their fault, then you go to HR and together with HR you take disciplinary measures

If I would manage people in my company and I would have them work 100 hour weeks, the upper echelons would come down and ask me politely what's wrong with my planning and why my forecast was that wrong
