I figured it would be more populated in here, but I guess it is night time in the US now
I was curious if anyone had any experience with the KingDian SSDs?
I'm not finding a ton of stuff about the SSD, I see an archive where the OP post refers to another post saying one scored well, but 4chandata doesn't exactly let me click on that and find it in there, and looking up the post number just brings me back to the same OP post
I'd run some form of linux on my laptop, but I always have this issue where after I click once with the mousepad, I can't use it anymore, even though I enjoy the environment more while I'm learning to program, if I'm using my laptop, I wanna be getting comfy in a lazyboy and not have to worry about having a spot for a usb mouse.
I'm wondering if I should be worried about my current SSD, being one of the cheaper kingston ones (v300) because now that I'm a bit more aware, and reading more about it, it looks like its performance degrades pretty hard, in general I've been reading kingston should just overall be avoided lately, and thats why I was kind of looking at cheap alternatives, and came across the kingdian in one of the threads a couple days ago
I know /g/ isn't tech support, but I am curious if anyone else has had the issue I have with my laptop and linux, cause it appears to happen on basically any kind of it, I tried Sabayon (gentoo based) ubuntu, there was another I can't recall the name of, but it was based on something else, where my trackpad works perfectly fine, until I use it to click something, then the trackpad "dies" until I restart the laptop. It just seems odd that its doing that, but it isn't specific to just ubuntu distros or something
The only real chink shit I went and bought immediately after seeing it was the BM-700 cause I was using a crappy little $6 mic from target due to my old headset dying
Where you the one I saw post with 4 of those, a mic stand and something else in the picture earlier today?
were*
Fuck I haven't even had my whiskey yet
It really does if you want it to be loud enough for people to hear
But my moms boyfriends a musician so he's got lots of old sound boards laying around, and those use phantom power by default
More than likely I could have, but there was a box of stuff in our apartment storage and I asked if I could rummage through it for something to power the mic
It was xlr but he's been in the music business for years, so along with a couple soundboards where a ton of xlr to xlr cables
were* why do i keep doing "where"
fuck my hands man
I have the mic setup with a neewer mic stand, because I didn't think to look on chink sites for one for some reason, but it still wasn't exactly expensive, my only issue is that without using like, rubber bands, I can't have it angled down, unless im missing something
cause it'll just slide out the bottom if its above me, if you get what i mean for where its placed
The BM-700 came with its own shock mount, but it doesn't appear to be tight enough to hold it there while angled down
yeah it was plastic, but again, it came with the mic, for $11 I wasn't gonna complain, I just hold it in place with a couple hair elastics my ex somehow populated my bathroom and bedroom with
I'd recommend the mic to my friends if they cared at all about how horrible their headsets are and that I'm always complaining that they somehow breath directly on it half the time but... *sigh*
I work in food service while I'm studying to become a code monkey, cause code monkeying is far higher paying, and I actually enjoy programming
Honestly, you probably get paid better than I do, unless you're doing it in some dump, janitors usually get a decent hourly rate
I have to deal with people, and even though my female boss is like "you come off so sweet I wanna keep having you interact with the customers" deep down I'm like "please for the love of god just have me go in the back and cut the veggies and meats"
I'm not really a people person, but honestly I think its because I'm forced to act like one for work. And people at my job don't share my interests.
My first job that wasn't construction was making dough for a pizza place, honestly I kinda wanna go back to that, just me in a back room for 7 hours blasting my own music over speakers throwing flour at dough so that it doesn't stick to itself
Is there a difference between shark and monkey SD cards?
I mean, its a pretty cool looking monkey, but I prefer blue
Any other good cheap chink microphones, preferably ones that don't require phantom power that I could just, force on my group of friends so they don't sound like shit when we do stuff?
There was a SUPER old /g/ post of audio things to buy back in the day, with super cheap lapel mics, i might do that if I can find where I hid that picture, cause its also why i ended up getting the headphones i have
that was it
not chink, but if the prices arent very different, 3 of them for $5 is pretty nice
the question is whether or not they sound decent, i listened to the old reviews for the neewer ones and they were pretty good
Well I mean, if you're comparing like, a $50 mic to a chinese lapel mic, of course the difference is going to be massive
I myself have the BM-700, I just want my friends to have mics that aren't near their mouths, or have a pop filter or something, cause they breath on them all the time, and their headsets just have really poor audio
What do you think would sound better, a blue snowball or a bm-700 with phantom power?
a bm-700 and a phantom power adapter is cheaper
They really are, and it makes me sad when they can't figure out simple things...
One of them was trying to tell me their Phenom II x4 965 was going to be a bottle neck to anything more powerful than their old 6670 with ddr3 and because of that they wouldn't buy a new graphics card even though they were complaining about how poor their performance was
I literally shoved my old 5770 into their computer, and it showed immediate results, but i told him, both cards arent supported anymore, you're gonna have to upgrade to something newer
I can't get into pokemon go, it just doesn't look appealing, I'll stick to crystal version kthnx
But yeah, I have a blue snowball and bm-700 with phantom power infront of me, and I could give my old blue snowball to one of the people I game with, most likely my brother since I actually trust him to not break it, honestly because my 2 friends are so stupid I'd rather just be like "get this cheap thing and if you break it, because you break everything computer related, it won't be expensive to replace"
I honestly don't understand how my friends break everything, one of them somehow fried their PSU, I don't know, then 6 months later, he fried a hard drive he bought shortly after replacing the power supply
i was like "wtf are you doing?"
Gotta give that vegetarian a steak...
trick or treat bitch...
US
Gotta believe in the MAGA
lol
Put that shark in my cart in gearbest, but honestly, thinking about it, i dont know what else i need an SD card for
32gb in my psp, 32gb in my phone
aw fuck, I forgot to start prepping my black beans for lunch, which happens in 10 hours, guess I better go do that
Why is everyone just playing music?
I'm sitting on cash, but I can't think of anything I really need right now.
a... a what?
I just bought a blue clicky keyboard
A MOUSE WITH SPEAKERS AYYLMAO
I thought about grabbing that chink meme mouse that was what, 99 cents? cause its basically the exact same thing as my uhhh god what was it called, red dragon one that I use for my laptop, but the one i have has a broken scroll wheel
>ftw bought perdition mouse
I don't know what that is
the burnouts part...
Why would I want to flick it and have it keep going?
nice waste of a can of compressed air there...
I can't think of a single time I'd ever use it
Soft? wtf?
Ark, you're in chink shit general, either take the risk on chink shit or gtfo lol
I'm just kidding man
I mean, it is 3am here so
I thought about pulling out the whiskey but I'd rather not be hungover on my last day off, hating life
lol
Well since I have to be at work at 5am in a couple days, my decision to stay up til 3am was a poor one, I either need to sleep now and just wear myself out, or stay up all night and fall asleep at a reasonable hour, and option two hasn't been working out for me since it got warm, so I'm gonna go for the night
I work tomorrow, at 10am, and then the next day at 5am
tomorrow being friday for me, and its 3am thursday right now, I've been up, on 3 hours of sleep, for almost 24 hours, which is why I feel opting for sleeping now, and then wearing myself down is the better option
Well sometimes people don't consider it "tomorrow" until you've slept, which I don't get, but yeah, I work friday 10am, and saturday 5am, I still have that shark sitting in my gearbest shopping cart, but I don't think I'll actually need it for anything
I have an a10-8700p APU in my $300 laptop o3o
mine is a dell inspiron 15-5555 with an a10-8700p and 12gb of ram
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Dell-Silver-15.6-Inspiron-15-5000-Series-5555-Laptop-PC-with-AMD-A10-8700P-Processor-12GB-Memory-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-Windows-10-Home/45976115
I got it off ebay from newegg because for some reason that was a thing, but thats the laptop
The only issue I have with it is what I stated the other day, the trackpad doesn't work on linux, I assume I could make it, but I don't tinker much on linux so I don't have much knowledge of it
Its probably not obscure, just a uh, part number I'm not sure how to get along with the driver I wouldn't be sure how to install once I've identified the part
they already do that, so fuck the government
>intel
>AMD
>american
I'm not aware of any chink shit I need, TELL ME WHAT CHINK SHIT I NEED
I was thinking of setting up like, a pi voip server for me and my friends, but I'm not 100% sure what I would need to get for that, just an SD card for it? and I assume the cheapest pi could handle voip without issues
Anybody here have any experience with raspberry pi's? I see what looks like their newest one for $35, and it seems to be the cheapest I'm coming across that has an ethernet port and is powered by microusb, which I just have stupid amounts of. Would I be able to just slap a linux distro with arm support on an SD card and run the server or would it require more work than that?
worst comes to worst I have google and I'm sure other people have setup pis as voips and other servers
I've port forwarded before, unless they made the pi OS version more secure, I find I can usually just, boot up whatever OS, windows, ubuntu, sabayon, and run the mumble or vent server client or whatever and have it work
I feel like I should set it up for other things too, since I'd be putting the effort in, but I'm not sure what else I'd do, the newest one definitely has the power to do more than just, host a voip for a group of friends
do i go out and get some chink food or just eat my beans for dinner?
im tempted to do a sound comparison for my blue snowball vs my bm-700
now that im settled in and have my chink food, what software should i actually use to do the recording test? i honestly havent thought about doing just audio tests before
the bm-700 is quieter
that being said, i had to turn off my A/C for my snowball
the bm-700 didnt even pick it up
I'll just have to adjust the bm-700's volume to be a little higher, they were both at 64%
phantom power then to my computer
