2016-07-21 21:53:24 UTC

2016-07-21 21:53:56 UTC

2016-07-21 21:54:43 UTC

2016-07-21 21:54:48 UTC

And they wouldent even sell booze because easter sunday

2016-07-21 21:55:50 UTC

2016-07-21 21:56:08 UTC

2016-07-21 21:56:27 UTC

2016-07-21 21:56:44 UTC

2016-07-21 21:57:12 UTC

JB is one of the only places that sells monitors in my town among dingey electronics stores owned by real life chinks and they have about 6 monitors all curved all over 600 dollars.

Anybody here have any experience with raspberry pi's? I see what looks like their newest one for $35, and it seems to be the cheapest I'm coming across that has an ethernet port and is powered by microusb, which I just have stupid amounts of. Would I be able to just slap a linux distro with arm support on an SD card and run the server or would it require more work than that?

2016-07-21 21:58:19 UTC

Once vicky ships mine I'm sure I'll review it

2016-07-21 21:58:33 UTC

@freddy that is all you would need to do, but dont expect a gui

2016-07-21 21:58:47 UTC

Pis arent meant to be anything but terminals

2016-07-21 21:59:26 UTC

worst comes to worst I have google and I'm sure other people have setup pis as voips and other servers

2016-07-21 21:59:27 UTC

And you would need to get the pi version of whatever os

2016-07-21 21:59:51 UTC

But yeah, it should just be a matter of installing some package

2016-07-21 22:00:16 UTC

And mabey making a hole in your firewall for inbound packets

2016-07-21 22:01:37 UTC

I've port forwarded before, unless they made the pi OS version more secure, I find I can usually just, boot up whatever OS, windows, ubuntu, sabayon, and run the mumble or vent server client or whatever and have it work

2016-07-21 22:07:11 UTC

I feel like I should set it up for other things too, since I'd be putting the effort in, but I'm not sure what else I'd do, the newest one definitely has the power to do more than just, host a voip for a group of friends
