@binslashcat I generally tend to agree with the opinion that brown switches are "dirty reds". the tactile bump is not very noticable, which is either a love or hate thing

I use black and clear switches, for reference, which are my favorites

brown switches will also feel a lot lighter to press compared to blues

is there much of a difference between them and "modern blacks"?

I have a ducky one tkl board with black switches, so I assume they're "modern"

the reason I say this is because according to the reviews and seller, they're supposed to reach spin times of 4+ minutes out of the box

wd40 and other lubricants can actually slow your spinner

the general consensus is to just degrease the ball bearing, not add lubricant

also of course, keep them away from water
