I am SO looking forward to 2020
I want to see the complete melt down
not only for fun but because it's necessary
I don't have the POC pass anymore, earlier this year VICE Canada called chinese people white supremacists XD
so i may as well start hoisting the ol red ensign.
i meant chinese ethnic, not chinese nationality
oh yeah, they went there
I'm a little split on the whole Muslim thing
while i do think it's horrific and bad
i also really don't give a fuck considering what Islam has done, and continues to do to every culture and people it is in close proximity with.
I think of it kind of the same way i do with the people who returned to Hong Kong in the late 90s and 2000s after fleeing in the 80s and early 90s. It's hard to feel sorry for them.
Islam has claimed discrimination to gain access then pillaged, raped, and genocided it's way around continent for quite some time. What else can anyone be expected to do but to not trust them EVER and make sure they never get any kind of leverage in their territory?
In case you're wondering how HK is relevant. The nations that let islam in are much the same as the people who went back thinking, "well i know they murdered 45 some odd million people, but they promised us a 50 year transitional period..."
"...and we can make a shit tonne of money there right now."
Islam really is almost perfect war doctrine
and even the moderates, and i mean the REAL moderates are complicit even if unwillingly
the issue is the moderates, having become more liberal fall into the same traps our liberals do
they live and let live and have fewer children.
so the moderates real or fake, wedge there foot in the door and the extremists come in. the extremists being more conservative have more kids. and in time they grow into a voting block.
yeah i think it goes without saying a lot of the "peaceful moderates" really aren't. They won't kill you, but they'll stand up and cheer every time there's another attack.
yup. Having been raised Catholic (steadfast atheist now) i've seen first hand that while yeah they have their crazies too, the christians are pretty quick to disavow their own
And i think thats a huge part of why certain groups are better liked globally than others
the willingness to openly criticize their own
yes
I've had this kind of discussion with my family before too
with regards to being chinese
they didn't like that i'd call out shitty drivers and people skirting rules and regulations for example in our housing market
they figured the racism would get worse cause the whites will see me doing it and pile on.
but i've never seen that. I find the harder we police our own, the more other groups tend to back off
If you don't say anything it's assumed that you condone what "your people" are doing. Therefore reinforcing the view that you have an ingroup preference and are willing to break laws to protect it.
If you rail on them hard they see you as individuals, as opposed to a monolithic group that protects their own.
Thats how you get both Ilhan Omars and Adolf Hitlers.
if you prop up your own without merit, you potentially grow demons. In the event that you don't you're still creating the conditions for your opposition to grow one.
This is why I think Jews tend to be so disliked world wide. Why it seems to be a common theme that people try to genocide them
They do well enough not to create their own tyrants, but the insular nature of their communities breeds contempt from outsiders.
I find it really disturbing that with cars and guns people say there are no accidents, thre was always something that could have been done to prevent it. But when it comes to human events, it's always "victim blaming" if you point out that the person or people could have done something better to prevent it.
With jews they say, "oh so you think the nazis were justified then?"
No i'm just saying if you don't want everyone to hate you, there are preventative measures that could be taken.
"Oh so you're saying she was asking for it cause she was dressed like a slut and getting plastered at the club?"
No, i'm just saying if you want to prevent yourself from being raped. It probably isn't a good idea to go to dark unsecured places with lots of strangers and then get inebriated.
certain behaviors put you at greater risk. The fault still lies with the perpetrator in all cases. Just saying, prevention is a personal responsibility.
And of course we can't expect the moderates now to undo what has been done. It's just hard to say China is wrong in it's decision given the history of it all.
I guess the best way to summarize it is: The action is immoral, but the decision was the only logical option.
The imprisoning and killing is the main problem. Honestly i have nothing to say for the organ harvesting. It's like throwing on an illegal use of firearms charge over a murder charge. If they're killing them one way or another, it doesn't really make a difference to me whether or not they reuse their organs. Objecting to the killing is already an objection to both.
I don't think thats good enough
I'm of the opinion that much of the global problems we have today are caused by the fact that most of the major powers stopped fighting wars properly about a century ago.
weapons got too good is one factor
costs became too high
the political will went away.
not world wars
hear me out
Allow me to rephrase
Having gotten themselves into wars, they've stopped finishing them properly.
it's not the amount of wars
it's not that they SHOULD fight wars
it's that when war occurs it must be fought properly, it must be concluded properly
No Canadian
But look at the european empires, see where they've been. Look at native NA populations, African populations, what they've done and the way their territories have shifted and which ones are stable or not stable.
Areas where one group has successfully subjugated the others for a long time and either continue to hold power, or have otherwise transitioned into a coexisting state, those are the stable ones
Areas where the invaders have come, conquered, then left or lost control, those are areas of instability.
this seems to be very consistent
for obvious reason
The long and short of it is. If you're going to get into a war, not that you should, after victory you need to be able to secure and occupy territory for at a long time.
I'm talking about for example if one side is trying to genocide you, and you want them to stop.
you can't just beat them in and leave
that just fuels the fire for their next attempt
occupation must last long enough that the ones who held the original ideology that pushed them to hate you are dead. Long enough that those who hold a grudge over their defeat are dead. Long enough that everyone alive has lived under your rule, your system and considers it to be normal.
practicality often stands at odds with morality unfortunately.
exactly
when i say occupy, its not neccesarily by oppression and force
effectively you need the majority to live in a state of being where they see the ones who want their old ways back as being crazy
We have internal plumbing and light to see any time of day we need it! Why would we want to go back!
Americans talk about not wanting to nation build but thats exactly what you need to do
Can you afford it? Probably fuck no. But if you don't it's just going to be perpetual terrorism.
TLDR: Get into fewer wars. Fight and finish them properly.
You'd probably be fine if you only fought one at a time, but at any given time you seem to be involved in at least 5
yeah, no they've tried that
and that worked because the area wasn't the stronghold of a religion that frowns upon the very idea of personal choice, much less democracy
i really don't agree with that interpretation of the western left
Theres nothing caring about getting someone fired over a hat
Theres nothing fair about ripping wealth out of a starving white family's pockets to hand over to upper middle class minorities.
They care and are fair in so far as you are on their side
the moment theres a sniff of disagreement you are on the chopping block
Everyone thinks they're caring and fair
No, care and fairness are the hallmark of your classical liberal.
centrists
and center leftists
the left have no care for it, they just want a flip in the system where they think they'll end up at the top because they truly believe they are at the bottom.
it does, and it manifests in their political choices
Classical liberals
the ones that want open competition, actual meritocracy
i think we had a slight miscommunication there
The left having stolen the title of liberals, have just taken their care and fairness slogans
In reality they're just power hungry tyrants who think a total flip of the system will put them in a position to occupy the upper rungs of society
agreed
the issue is too many people including us when we aren't paying specific attention to it for the purposes of discussion like right now, we tie liberal and left together, and conservative and right together.
thats because conservative and liberal are relative to the societal shift, while right and left are the ends of the graph
Lets say the pendulum really begins to swing and everyone starts getting more religious and right wing.
I think if we are to use the terms properly conservatives would be the ones then trying to hold things where they are and the liberals, moving things towards the right (back towards the more fair center)
I'm on and off with Shapiro.
like you've said great when in an area of his actual espertise, but anything else and he just rambles
I'm more of a Dave Rubin, Steven Crowder kind of guy. Not a big fan of the skits, but Crowder's segments on actual news and such is on the ball.
i miss hopper ๐ฆ
Dave and Tim are both lost. Dave has found his place just inviting everyone on to talk about it and unpack his reality for him, Tim is still partially in denial.
I like Tim because he's just rails against his side, I Love Tim because you can tell his own brain is doing back flips trying to get him to shut up and toe the line.
