<@&273567579946090498> sorry for the ping, dunno where else to put it but can I get confirmed Catholic role
Lol hi
@Grengar this is way late but that picture is called "Christ in the Desert" and it's by Ivan Kramskoi
are you actually into the occult
this is so spiritually dangerous
stop
stop now
There is nothing in it that would ever help you gain salvation
stop talking about it
this is a sin of curiousity
should be a banned topic
it'
it's unsafe for almost everyone
Yes
stop talking about it
If you mention it here, and someone decides to look up something occult because of it and they fall into any type of sin through that, you are responsible for it
we are hounding you down this hole because it's so easy to fall into sin and quite spiritually dangerous
you need to be more obedient
that'll never happen tho cause >prot
LOL
no he's a wall outlet <:doge:589578741781364771>
yes, it's from the sin of curiousity
Look, if it's not a big deal why do you insist on defending it
Are you trying to claim they aren't real
You don't need a sigil
>magic
that should be enough to throw it away and run away
we don't believe those have power
Look, suppose that they were actually fine, but even then If someone told them that they could lead you to potential problems you should leave it out of humility and out of fear of damnation
even that
if there is a tiny chance that it could be less than helpful, you should leave it
icons aren't worship
in the slightest
you're telling me the icon of Christ on the cross on my wall is going to give me problems? lol k
awww I got cited
don't tell us that
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
stop
"There are 6 ways curiosity can be sinful:
1. Seeking knowledge for the sake of pride.
2. Learning for the sake of how to commit a sinful act.
3. Studying something at the expense of learning what you should according to duty.
4. Attempting to learn illicit knowledge. As in, occult or diabolical things.
5. Desiring to know earthly or temporal things with no desire to learn heavenly or religious things.
6. Wanting to inquire into things beyond your intellectual ability."
I'm just saying
occultism and all discussion of it
should not be allowed
it's not something we need to know
Rule 1 buddy
<@&273567579946090498> can you add rule about occultism
and how it should not be discussed
and grengar please no meanie
It's like reading apocryphal literature
next thing you know you're a gnostic
yikes
I see that rcia tag and my heart is filled with hope
not trying to be a jerk, but this is just really spiritually dangerous. It'll lead you down bad paths, potentially open you up to demonic influences, and get you thinking about things *other* than what we KNOW is the path to salvation. There's no need to be an explorer trying to figure out a new way to find salvation through occult symbols and techniques. Stick to what works. Everything else, this esoteric knowledge and use of occult methods, that was not necessary for the Saints, and it will never be needed or recommended. Come to Christ through humility, obedience, and sanctity, and you will be fine.
These days we have such easy access to what we need, and we don't appreciate it, which is why stuff outside the gospel can seem to have value, esp. when nobody talks about them, and when you come across them they're presented as interesting and hidden knowledge. The scriptures and writings of the saints have *everything* you could possibly need. Knowledge from outside of tradition is just completely unnecessary, and as I've stressed, if it seems like it could be a little dangerous, then you should not hesitate to run from it.
And eventually you realize that everything is just phrasing the same message in different ways over and over and over. The Christian life begins when you begin living it.
i'm not even trying to dunk on grengar lol I just think it's important for *everyone* to know that occult stuff is a near occasion of sin
there's a reason why it's historically taboo
because it's always been known about, and it's always been opposed to God
it's the prototypical example of what's not worth knowing
some of the greatest saints were illiterate and knew nothing more than the homilies of their local priests
He's been talking about this for months
yikes
He's fat
Fatties shouldn't run
They will hurt themselves
They can bike or do something without impact on joints
Don't be stupid and tell him to hurt himself as to not be a pussy
Yes everyone should run when it's safe
Ie they are no longer overweight
is this sede spam or something
It's not something that should take priority
At best it's mostly useless
you guys are all fighting in here when none of you guys have read the bible in the last 2 weeks and haven't prayed in 2 days
cmon guys
(obviously I don't know that, but if you develop devotion and humility you're not going to fight over this stuff)
I was going through Psalms personally
lulllllllllll
fr
I have an rsvce hard copy, I just do that
Douay is also based, latinisms can get a little annoying tho lol
LOL
In terms of content, definitely not
in terms of action, yes
piracy is a sin
<:Dogepression:603658190684553216> ||one that I am grievously guilty of ||
honestly that is one of the harder ones for me
am I going to pay 35 bucks for a uni textbook that I need and I'm only going to use for a semester?
Yes, it doesn't affect anyone's bottom line at all
but it's against the law
like just because you're stealing from someone who's absolutely rich, doesn't mean you aren't stealing
I understand the metaphor breaks down with digital stuff
honestly most of the stuff you wanna pirate, you don't really need
|| you have to delete it to be able to confess it ||
It'll hurt
I know
I'm in the exact same position
I know I hve to delete it
I don't want to
I have 30 gigs of science textbooks
which I probably won't use but it's an entire university library's worth
post post post
Yes Nathaniel but it's against the law
