Debt is very useful as a leverage and bargaining tool in the right hands

I can understand that, starting a sucessful business is hard enough even with a decent amount of investment capital

I mean, it is. At least, with the way societies tend to work

I feel like I should be transparent here. I'm mostly here to see alternate viewpoints. I myself would say that I'm a capitalist. But I also think that it is extremely important to understand alternate views to your own. I'm not gonna try to force my opinions on anyone, though would be up to just talk about my views with anyone interested to gain mutual understanding.

I went to one of his rallies in my city, I think the majority of trump's stuff was playing to a voterbase that was feeling increasingly disenchanted with the current political situation

Like, specifically here his rally was covering NAFTA and the TPP, which were agreements that have had significant impact on this city in particular, as there had been many factories that shut down and moved across teh border, costing many people their jobs

I believe there were talks about renegotiating NAFTA at some point, but I've honestly not heard anythign conclusive.

Though at this moment in time, I'm wishing that I just didn't register to vote this year. Because I was in a different county when the elections were on and didn't realize I could actually do absentee voting. And now jury duty might end up interfering with my plans to take a trip to Canada with my boyfriend

I mean, more bisexual. But it's not completely wrong

Censorship is dumb as a concept and I disagree with it

Y'know something that I think is dumb about the American school system? Like just one specific thing that's not the obvious ones like Common Core and No Child Left Behind?

How in US History courses during compulsory enducation they give the Founding Fathers this false sense of "They knew what they were doing", and portray them as a cohesive group

They weren't at all

They yelled at eachother during discussions over politics

Like, I went to college for a semester, before not returning because I have no idea what I even want a degree in. And my Freshmen Tutorial was on the Founding Fathers. And it was a cohesive course that went over how they actually were

Like how Geore Washington was a fairly indecisive general, or how Benjamin Franklin was a glaring hypocrate. And I said "Why do we lie to kids about these people?"

and the professor said it was about instilling a positive view in the minds of kids

and I was just sitting there like "It's a history course, the point is to give them an accurate depiction of past events so they may understand past decisions and use them as references for their own"

Well I mean

the professor in question is also a lawyer

I think I might have had a point I was trying to make with that statement, but I'm so tired that it was lost on me the second I posted that

I'll never understand the idea behind hiding your countries history

Oh geez, your country did something in the past that you odn't like. Oh well. It's still your history, it's still part of your country.
