So now you're making an appeal to authority?
Because I have the ability to think critically.
Also, this is very very derailed, the purpose of this conversation was to talk about men having more empathy.
or at the very least as much.
Okay let me put the burden of proof on you.
Where is your proof that men don't empathize as much
So you don't want to prove anything, and want me to do all the heavy lifting? That doesn't seem fair.
let's take this to another channel btw
this isn't the right channel for this
I just noticed
@ETBrooD over here
I don't think this is debate worthy.
It isn't heated enough.
Okay but you need to take into account for the fact of socialization.
Empathy isn't as useful for the male gender role.
Why would men be concerned for it
Your arguement is that men, naturally, are less empathetic.
My argument is that they are just as empathetic, by nature.
I should've made that more clear.
An article says otherwise, and they start to actually prove my point once I start skimming through.
"Perhaps the observed gender difference in the relationship between empathy and forgiveness is related to motivation rather than ability"
So, there are socialization and motivational differences due to the gender roles.
It makes more sense for women to be more empathetic given their gender role.
However this doesen't mean men are less capable by nature.
Okay, where is your proof for that?
They didn't go into any structural differences within the brain that would retard men's ability to empathize.
so, no.
They go into a lot of studies, thats about it.
Disagree.
Society doesent need men to have as much empathy, their gender role is that of a utility ,of protecter.
Yeah, research, science, and progression of technology is generally a male role.
Okay mister appeal to authority.
You sound mad
Lol
You should calm down my dude.
you're showing me studies based on a perceived authority on the subject, which indirectly helped me prove my point.
Aw, does this mean we're breaking up? ๐ @ETBrooD
LOL
I'm starting to think you don't know what appeal to authority is.
I said, you're showing me studies based on a perceived authority on the subject, which indirectly helped me prove my point.
That's an appeal to authority.
Because it's an authority on the subject it can't possibly wrong, that's literarily your argument, even though it also put out the idea that I'm peddling, which you ignored.
Eh, maybe, a lot of issues are caused by human nature as well.
Yeah hold on
That male birth control last time was litterarly estrogenic
A dude killed himself on it if im not mistaken
