2019-11-10 02:12:24 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Hello

2019-11-10 02:13:25 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

I have a few questions if there are any flat earthers here

2019-11-10 02:16:28 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

I know

2019-11-10 02:17:35 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

We can see the moon because the sun shines light on it. When the earth is inbetween the moon and sun (like this: ๐ŸŒ™ ๐ŸŒ โ˜€๏ธ) then the light from the sun isnโ€™t hitting the moon, thus we cannot see the moon

2019-11-10 02:20:06 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Thatโ€™s not true either

2019-11-10 02:20:16 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Light refracts

2019-11-10 02:20:27 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

It doesnโ€™t travel in a straight line

2019-11-10 02:21:06 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Wait what?

2019-11-10 02:21:21 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

How does that make it impossible to see the moon and sun at the same time?

2019-11-10 02:22:08 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

What...?

2019-11-10 02:22:17 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

There are two types of eclipses

2019-11-10 02:22:24 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Solar and lunar

2019-11-10 02:22:37 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Citation needed then

2019-11-10 02:22:50 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

No

2019-11-10 02:22:58 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

No, im a physicist

2019-11-10 02:23:49 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Im more curious about how gravity works within a flat earth model

2019-11-10 02:25:24 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Like, itโ€™s impossible to not have gravity

2019-11-10 02:25:42 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Or some force that makes things accelerate at 9.8 m/s2

2019-11-10 03:15:13 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

Math is easy

2019-11-10 03:15:47 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

And that isnโ€™t what the brackets and parentheses mean @mineyful

2019-11-10 03:16:14 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

Brackets mean that that value is included in the domain, parentheses means that thereโ€™s a hole or asymptote there

2019-11-10 03:18:31 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

I dont see how gravity fits into a flat earth model

2019-11-10 03:19:18 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Then how do you explain that things accelerate downwards at 9.8 m/s^2

2019-11-10 03:20:17 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

9.8 m/s^2 isnt a speed

2019-11-10 03:20:49 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

No. Things fall at different speeds

2019-11-10 03:21:08 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Are they increasing in density as they fall?

2019-11-10 03:21:17 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Why do they go faster as they fall?

2019-11-10 03:22:58 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

What force is acting on it

2019-11-10 03:23:47 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

In my model, yes ik what force causes things to increase in speed

2019-11-10 03:24:29 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Itโ€™s a scientific theory.

2019-11-10 03:24:47 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

A scientific theory is not the same things as a โ€œlaymanโ€™sโ€ theory

2019-11-10 03:25:25 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

What..?

2019-11-10 03:25:43 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Thatโ€™s not how that works

2019-11-10 03:26:07 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Water isnโ€™t kept โ€œupsidedownโ€

2019-11-10 03:26:28 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Up is always away from the center of the earth

2019-11-10 03:26:56 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Okay?

2019-11-10 03:27:03 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

They arenโ€™t upsidedown

2019-11-10 03:27:13 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

There is such a thing as aviation

2019-11-10 03:27:45 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

^

2019-11-10 03:28:08 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

No..?

2019-11-10 03:28:27 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Because โ€œupโ€ and โ€œdownโ€ are relative

2019-11-10 03:28:45 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Up is always away from the center of the earth. Down is always towards the center of the earth

2019-11-10 03:30:01 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Because gravity is pulling them towards the center of the earth

2019-11-10 03:30:59 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Relative to the current orientation of the camera, yes

2019-11-10 03:31:22 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

No

2019-11-10 03:31:37 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

What...?

2019-11-10 03:32:11 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Gravity pulls you towards the center of the earth

2019-11-10 03:32:47 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Therefore, you can stand on opposite sides of the earth but still feel like youโ€™re โ€œuprightโ€

2019-11-10 03:33:03 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Yes. They knew a lot less back then

2019-11-10 03:33:24 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Our intuition is often flawed

2019-11-10 03:34:10 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

If psychology has taught us anything, itโ€™s that our intuitions are flawed

2019-11-10 03:34:17 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

And thatโ€™s not the only evidence

2019-11-10 03:35:08 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

I still want to know how things accelerate with a flat earth model

2019-11-10 03:36:12 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

There is no flaw with my system

2019-11-10 03:36:26 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Propose a perceived flaw and Iโ€™ll address it

2019-11-10 03:36:53 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Ever been on a plane?

2019-11-10 03:36:57 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Or a car?

2019-11-10 03:37:26 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

When you get up to speed, do you feel yourself moving? Or do you feel still?

2019-11-10 03:39:49 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

You feel yourself moving in a car when youโ€™re at a constant speed?

2019-11-10 03:40:44 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

I dont think youโ€™ve ever been in a car

2019-11-10 03:41:04 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Next time you get on a car, go at a constant speed, and see if you can feel a change

2019-11-10 03:41:13 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

What we feel is the acceleration.

2019-11-10 03:41:38 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Because we have inertia

2019-11-10 03:43:50 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

We can measure it

2019-11-10 03:44:22 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Literally, get a meter stick, a stop watch, some paper and a ball

2019-11-10 03:44:40 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Drop a ball from varying heights and measure how long it take to fall

2019-11-10 03:45:00 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

You can verify this for yourself

2019-11-10 03:46:08 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

We can also measure that

2019-11-10 03:47:02 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

You just need a telescope and a basic understanding of trigonometry

2019-11-10 03:48:16 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

We can find side lengths of a triage with at least one distance

2019-11-10 03:48:28 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Triangle*

2019-11-10 03:49:13 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

Of course they change

2019-11-10 03:49:21 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

We donโ€™t travel in a perfect circle

2019-11-10 03:51:35 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

We can use parallaxes to find the distance

2019-11-10 03:52:12 UTC [The Ice Wall #civil-debate]

You can test the effectiveness of parallaxes yourself, you just need a meter stick

2019-11-10 04:58:36 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Vaccines are medically valid

2019-11-10 04:58:39 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

And good

2019-11-10 15:48:39 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Nah, youโ€™re harming those who are unable to get vaccines

2019-11-10 15:54:27 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

I still want to hear an answer for gravity in a flat earth model

2019-11-10 15:59:27 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Thatโ€™s not an explanation

2019-11-10 16:00:04 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

Well, itโ€™s not an explanation you can support with evidence

2019-11-10 16:00:26 UTC [The Ice Wall #flat-earth]

And that explanation could just as easily apply to a globe earth

2019-11-10 16:01:55 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

What cancers and toxins are they injecting in our body?

2019-11-10 16:06:28 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Thermisoral is just a preservative. Its formula is nonlethal

2019-11-10 16:07:02 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

It doesnโ€™t matter that mercury is part of the formula

2019-11-10 16:07:35 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Chemical formula changes chemical properties

2019-11-10 16:08:13 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Na is a highly reactive element, cl2 is a highly deadly gas. But when you combine the two you get table salt

2019-11-10 16:09:21 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Can you send the actual study instead of a random picture

2019-11-10 16:10:11 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

You understand that we had autism before then, right?

2019-11-10 16:10:50 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Yeah **diagnosed**

2019-11-10 16:11:00 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Because we didnโ€™t have a term for it

2019-11-10 16:11:42 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Methyl mercury doesnโ€™t have the same chemical properties as mercury

2019-11-10 16:11:49 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

You understand that, right?

2019-11-10 16:12:06 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

That compounds donโ€™t have the same chemical properties as their elemental form?

2019-11-10 16:12:55 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Send the study

2019-11-10 16:13:04 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Idc about out of context pictures

2019-11-10 16:13:58 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Im not sure, usually i read the studies and its peer reviews

2019-11-10 16:14:32 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Isnt the CDC a governmental organization?

2019-11-10 16:14:45 UTC [The Ice Wall #vaxx-discussions]

Aka, not paid by pharma companies
