There's no redpilled, always stick with the project's ongoing syntax

2019-02-03 12:43:19 UTC

@Nekros around 500 mark with 45~ squaremeters

2019-02-03 12:43:45 UTC

2km from city centre in "good" part of town

2019-02-03 12:44:14 UTC

500 mark? you mean ~500eur?

2019-02-03 12:44:14 UTC

only reason its not 600 euro mark is that there is lake and well placed bridge between me and city centre

2019-02-03 12:44:17 UTC

yes

2019-02-03 12:44:21 UTC

ouch

2019-02-03 12:44:48 UTC

2019-02-03 12:45:20 UTC

i live on 20eur rent

2019-02-03 12:45:46 UTC

maybe i shouldnt convert them like that, but its 40bgn

2019-02-03 12:46:08 UTC

which is still considered cheap in our currency

2019-02-03 12:46:58 UTC

yeah bulgarias average per square meter is 1.66~ euros

2019-02-03 12:47:08 UTC

where as finlands is 6.6~

2019-02-03 12:47:35 UTC

(comparison UK has 23.9)

2019-02-03 12:48:10 UTC

being a student here is real nice

2019-02-03 12:48:56 UTC

2019-02-03 13:07:29 UTC

2019-02-03 13:07:39 UTC

I could get a room for that in London

2019-02-03 13:25:44 UTC

thing is minimum salary here is around 250eur

2019-02-03 13:25:57 UTC

which alot of people work for

2019-02-03 13:38:48 UTC

Are rent prices technology tho?

2019-02-03 13:41:04 UTC

in this case yes it was

2019-02-03 13:41:13 UTC

<:benis:239668961011040257>

2019-02-03 14:59:25 UTC

`number % 2 == 0`... `number & 1 == 0`

2019-02-03 14:59:30 UTC

LMAO

2019-02-03 14:59:42 UTC

just get this ;)

2019-02-03 15:16:24 UTC

that means exactly what you think it means

2019-02-03 15:17:29 UTC

This implies that everything that is not odd, is even. And JS has weak types

2019-02-03 15:17:38 UTC

So is "Hello" odd or even?

2019-02-03 15:18:38 UTC

Since it takes strings, too

2019-02-03 15:18:40 UTC

Hah

2019-02-03 15:18:52 UTC

is-odd has a dependency for is-number

2019-02-03 15:19:06 UTC

which is-odd calls

2019-02-03 15:19:16 UTC

is-even -> is- odd -> is-number

2019-02-03 15:19:27 UTC

So what happens if you is-even Hello?

2019-02-03 15:19:49 UTC

line 14

2019-02-03 15:25:36 UTC

>require isnumber

2019-02-03 15:25:40 UTC

disgusting

2019-02-03 18:15:41 UTC

ffffffff

2019-02-03 18:15:48 UTC

to buy 2700X now

2019-02-03 18:15:54 UTC

or regret later when that beast comes out

2019-02-03 18:16:23 UTC

I'm waiting for zen2 to replace my Ryzen 7 1700

2019-02-03 18:16:59 UTC

thing is for all we know the zen2 could be mere 5-15% boost

2019-02-03 18:17:03 UTC

or 50-60%

2019-02-03 18:17:12 UTC

yeah

2019-02-03 18:17:19 UTC

I'm only going to upgrade if the core-count increases

2019-02-03 18:17:33 UTC

i wonder if i shoot AYMD mail would they tell me release date for the new stuff

2019-02-03 18:17:43 UTC

:D (doubt)

2019-02-03 18:36:23 UTC

aaaaah fuck it

2019-02-03 18:36:29 UTC

il buy these pieces of shits

2019-02-03 18:36:46 UTC

curse after year or half that the new 3000 series is so much better

2019-02-03 18:37:17 UTC

but 2700X alone will make my stuff 3X faster on ansys and renders

2019-02-03 18:58:34 UTC

keeping up with the relentless advancement of technology is near impossible

2019-02-03 18:58:55 UTC

it's a matter of "here and now" when it comes to price/perf

2019-02-04 07:00:10 UTC

@porco I'm really torn between the Linksys LRT214-EU and the Zyxel Firewall VPN2S.
Major difference between them is that Linksys seems to be relatively slow with OpenVPN, which I think about using.
What do you prefer, OpenVPN or IPSec?

2019-02-04 07:06:04 UTC

If you want to use openvpn, then openvpn?

2019-02-04 07:07:29 UTC

I'd probably go for IPSec but since you're buying for a small company, I'd suggest OpenVPN

2019-02-04 07:10:16 UTC

The question is, would I really gain something by using ovpn as opposed to IPSec? The upstream of their ISP connection is fairly limited, so I wanna make it as "lean" as possible

2019-02-04 09:52:22 UTC

OpenVPN is easier to understand and configure

2019-02-04 11:25:03 UTC

d r @porco 16c rumoured for zen2

2019-02-04 12:18:52 UTC

2019-02-04 12:36:54 UTC

New Epyc gen is rumored to be 64c / socket

2019-02-04 12:36:56 UTC

Yes

2019-02-04 12:39:35 UTC

epyc isn't mainstream though

2019-02-04 12:47:30 UTC

No but nothing (except the pricing maybe) stops you from building an EPYC desktop

2019-02-04 12:48:03 UTC

most software not benefitting from it is quite big block tho

2019-02-04 12:48:07 UTC

aka "sanity" "do i get anything from this"

2019-02-04 12:49:24 UTC

i would say that prevents using epyc on most systems

2019-02-04 12:49:28 UTC

AMD says they're datacenter cpus

2019-02-04 12:49:40 UTC

doesn't dictate what you end up doing with it, though

2019-02-04 12:50:12 UTC

yeah people used Xeons for gaming due ??? they didnt care for electricity or anything else really

2019-02-04 12:50:19 UTC

the low clock count makes it unappealing to me

2019-02-04 12:50:35 UTC

Xeons maybe for more PCIe lanes?

2019-02-04 12:51:19 UTC

I think the enthusiast have 40 as well

2019-02-04 12:51:34 UTC

I doubt ECC makes a difference for gaming

2019-02-04 12:51:39 UTC

I used a Xeon desktop from July 2012 to November 2018

2019-02-04 12:51:52 UTC

Yes ecc makes a different for gaming, it makes gaming slower

2019-02-04 12:51:55 UTC

I have a Xeon E3 in my homeserver

2019-02-04 12:51:59 UTC

it's p nice

2019-02-04 12:52:08 UTC

Ecc is not about perf, it's about stability

2019-02-04 12:52:28 UTC

I would not run a server or video/audio rendering without it

2019-02-04 12:52:36 UTC

at least the important stuff

2019-02-04 12:52:46 UTC

It depends what you do on the server

2019-02-04 12:53:01 UTC

Most use cases don't actually require or even benefit from ecc

2019-02-04 12:53:11 UTC

Data storage, serving movies via Plex

2019-02-04 12:53:23 UTC

What kind of raid level?

2019-02-04 12:53:32 UTC

I use FreeNAS w/raidz2

2019-02-04 12:53:41 UTC

@porco single core perf does

2019-02-04 12:53:41 UTC

6 3tb wd reds
