2017-09-04 05:00:34 UTC

Seperation of powers.

2017-09-04 05:01:37 UTC

@Wilhelm Zaisser#5032 And that is not to say that communities would not usurp the monopoly on violence?

2017-09-04 05:02:20 UTC

@Deleted User Communities trend towards stability, similar to how societies functioned before modern governments.

2017-09-04 05:03:24 UTC

Societies were extremely violent before modern governments, are you saying that feudalism was less violent and more harmonious?

2017-09-04 05:04:19 UTC

Not sure what you mean with 'extremely violent'. Stable societies cannot be extremely violent. Believe it or not, people don't like being raped and murdered.

2017-09-04 05:05:51 UTC

>Believing societies before now were way violent

2017-09-04 05:05:57 UTC

There was always violence in past societies, don't tell me that any society was less violent than society is now, because they were always more violent.

2017-09-04 05:06:32 UTC

That's hilarious and very vague.

2017-09-04 05:06:45 UTC

Even before civilization was developed, humans were much more violent.

2017-09-04 05:06:59 UTC

How in any way was society more violent now?

2017-09-04 05:08:23 UTC

What are you even comparing it to? Also it seems like violence may be apart of how a society is stabilised.

2017-09-04 05:08:48 UTC

How so?

2017-09-04 05:10:10 UTC

Suppose combat sports is a way to sublimate aggression and turn violent instincts intoa controlled environment. That could be a net gain for stability.

2017-09-04 05:10:28 UTC

@Wilhelm Zaisser#5032 >Greek society
>Doubt is casted over their lack of wars
>We have not even translated their language

2017-09-04 05:10:30 UTC

Or suppose that there is a degree of natural selection and some violence adds to it.

2017-09-04 05:12:04 UTC

And what are you even comparing it to. What is the golden example of peace in today's world, and if it is a first world country, what about the rest of the world upon which the first world is rested upon?

2017-09-04 05:12:07 UTC

And an island that only 330K people live on and was not lived on by humans until the vikings made a small settlement on it.

2017-09-04 05:12:28 UTC

That does not seem skewed at all.

2017-09-04 05:12:54 UTC

What do you mean skewed?

2017-09-04 05:15:46 UTC

There is very few people on it, not to mention that humans did not even live there until another society colonized it, the low numbers skew the crime rates due to it being much, much easier to get a control over and to treat, this does not go with other countries due to their large population being extremely difficult to control, and the costs plus the resources are difficult to handle as well.

2017-09-04 05:16:56 UTC

So it's exceptional compared to what? What is the golden example you have in mind?

2017-09-04 05:17:24 UTC

Where the government leads to greatest peace.

2017-09-04 05:18:10 UTC

There is no golden example.

2017-09-04 05:18:38 UTC

So on what basis are you saying that government leads to greatest peace?

2017-09-04 05:19:35 UTC

What I meant, is that with modern governments, there is much more peace than there would be in the past.

2017-09-04 05:20:26 UTC

I don't even know how to reply to that without examples.

2017-09-04 05:21:20 UTC

Would you prefer to live in a feudal society or a neolithic tribe?

2017-09-04 05:22:05 UTC

socialism doesnt work

2017-09-04 05:22:09 UTC

look at venezuela

2017-09-04 05:23:18 UTC

Hmmm, I could imagine a state of mind where I would prefer it. I'm not a reactionary though, it's hard for me to project myself into the past and want to return to it. I just accept the present.

2017-09-04 05:25:58 UTC

I hope you like living in a stone house, farming from dawn until dusk, having to meet a quota that forces you to live off of a few peices of bread and dirty water from a river bed.

2017-09-04 05:26:58 UTC

As if those are the only options.

2017-09-04 05:29:04 UTC

Modern government is not perfect. The most perfect society would not need a government.

2017-09-04 05:29:36 UTC

That is the thing, there is no perfect society.

2017-09-04 05:30:00 UTC

That's true. But it can be improved and progressed.

2017-09-04 05:32:07 UTC

Would it be better to have a government or not. or else being equal? Why shouldn't we try to move to improve where we can see that in a best cast scenario, government would not be needed. It's a way off, but it's an extra layer that may not be ultimately necessary, and society could be improved if it could learn to life without it.

2017-09-04 05:34:50 UTC

anyone else like naztrot gang

2017-09-04 05:35:22 UTC

stalinlism is trash

2017-09-04 05:35:52 UTC

@Wilhelm Zaisser#5032 Equality is a false god, people will always need to be ordered and will always need people to give them orders.

2017-09-04 05:35:52 UTC

the USSR was about as socialist as sweden

2017-09-04 05:36:26 UTC

2017-09-04 05:36:58 UTC

I'm a feminist/intersectionalist ama

2017-09-04 05:37:04 UTC

@Katya Are you talking about late USSR?

2017-09-04 05:37:12 UTC

@Piper Interwhat?

2017-09-04 05:37:24 UTC

stalin was my favorite social democrat

2017-09-04 05:37:30 UTC

I adhere to intersectionality theory which is a theory about oppression.

2017-09-04 05:37:41 UTC

Lotta leftypolers don't like it

2017-09-04 05:37:49 UTC

Enlighten me.

2017-09-04 05:38:04 UTC

About intersectionality?

2017-09-04 05:38:48 UTC

@Deleted User I didn't say anything about 'equality', I said learning to live without government. This involves economic emancipation, not the same as equality.

2017-09-04 05:39:02 UTC

It's quite difficult to fend off so many assumptions at once.

2017-09-04 05:39:46 UTC

@Piper Obviously.

2017-09-04 05:40:11 UTC

>people will always need to be ordered and will always need people to give them orders
Always is a very long time.

2017-09-04 05:40:42 UTC

The basic idea is that forms of oppression like class oppression, racism, and patriarcy reinforce and reproduce each other meaning that the approach to dismantling them needs to be inclusive and take each form of oppresion into account.

2017-09-04 05:42:56 UTC

>Patriarchy
Did you come from tumblr?

2017-09-04 05:43:15 UTC

lol Nope

2017-09-04 05:43:27 UTC

@Piper He doesn't know anything. I hope you have lots of patience.

2017-09-04 05:44:09 UTC

He's a massive dogmatist and reactionary.

2017-09-04 05:44:10 UTC

He is young and thinks vague handwaving is a strong piece of rhetoric. I bet it works with his little edgy friends.

2017-09-04 05:47:58 UTC

Zero existing genders? I don't get it.

2017-09-04 05:48:00 UTC

intersectionality is integral to a social revolution

2017-09-04 05:48:42 UTC

Intersectionality=/= liberal idpol

2017-09-04 05:48:49 UTC

@Deleted User What he means is that genders do no exist, implying that there is only sexes of male and female.

2017-09-04 05:49:08 UTC

what did he mean by this

2017-09-04 05:49:09 UTC

That makes no sense.

2017-09-04 05:49:16 UTC

Lol no that is not what that meme means

2017-09-04 05:49:29 UTC

Memes are memes.

2017-09-04 05:49:39 UTC

Yes, of course, if we reduce the gender aspect it must obviously mean that we must fall back on sexual distinction for some totally sensible reason.

2017-09-04 05:49:44 UTC

So do you have any actual objetions to concept of patriarchy?

2017-09-04 05:49:46 UTC

Most of the time they don't make any sense.

2017-09-04 05:49:56 UTC

Or are you just gonna call me a tublerina or whatever

2017-09-04 05:50:08 UTC

memes are memes <:pn:312032035872964608>

2017-09-04 05:50:19 UTC

Gender distinction is a spook be it born of floaty intellectual jargon or sexual distinctions.

2017-09-04 05:50:33 UTC

Gender identity is not a spook

2017-09-04 05:50:33 UTC

What is the function of a meme? ๐Ÿค”

2017-09-04 05:50:37 UTC

gender is a social construct

2017-09-04 05:50:37 UTC

EVERYTHING I DONT LIKE IS A SPOOOOOOOG <:pn:312032035872964608>

2017-09-04 05:51:54 UTC

@Piper While I do believe that a womans primary job is to be a housewife or mother, that does not mean that I do not believe that women should be confined to not having any education, property or jobs.

2017-09-04 05:52:20 UTC

So you do believe in patriarchy, you just think it's a good thing?

2017-09-04 05:52:26 UTC

communism means the abolition of the family

2017-09-04 05:52:42 UTC

>womans primary job is to be a housewife
Wew.

2017-09-04 05:53:19 UTC

'job'

2017-09-04 05:53:40 UTC

Or should I say "occupation"?

2017-09-04 05:54:41 UTC

@Deleted User Are you a leftist

2017-09-04 05:55:02 UTC

@Deleted User Take a wild guess.

2017-09-04 05:55:12 UTC

@Deleted User Im going to guess no

2017-09-04 05:55:37 UTC

That you are correct about.

2017-09-04 05:55:51 UTC

@Deleted User What is the man's primary occupation? Are you fulfilling it?

2017-09-04 05:58:00 UTC

@Deleted User A mans primary occupation should work of some sort, and why should I tell you anything about myself?

2017-09-04 05:58:39 UTC

Because you life in fantasy land and don't even live up to your own prescripts of who should do what.

2017-09-04 05:58:59 UTC

Is your wife at home in the kitchen?

2017-09-04 06:01:50 UTC

Like I said, why should I tell you anything?
Anyways, we are getting off track.

2017-09-04 06:02:07 UTC

Hello why do you folks believe communism is great? It seems awfully scary that the government gets full power and eventually becomes a dictator.

2017-09-04 06:03:12 UTC

@Deleted User No, now I am wonder what other of your prescriptions is based on fantasy... like the government being the shining example and pinnacle of peace in the world compared to all possibilities.
