The games really have little similarity in terms of mechanics. Dark Descent was much more interactive while Machine for Pigs was more "experiential".

I mean, the latter was made by the Chinese Room studio, a studion *only* known for their walking simulators.

"Dear Esther" and "Everybody Has Gone to the Rapture" are fantastic games, but their mechanics and appeal cannot be appreciated as a part of "Amnesia" series.

You have 1035 gold and a city capable of building troops. So you can buy troops and produce them.
I'm pretty sure that archer is already dead, but maybe you can move it to the city, if not just poke someone.(If Discord hadn't gone offline I would have corrected this and said to go the mines instead)
You should retreat that worker to the city. If you can drive them out, he'll rebuild the place, but if you can't he may buy you a turn by being sent to be captured.
I think that your trireme can increase the city strenght by 1 when inside.
If you're not feeling confident just pay him to stop or pay someone bordering him to declare war (this one may not work quickly enough).
