My favourite part of the Orthodox is when they convert to Catholicism.

2019-03-19 02:02:14 UTC

who are the people with the Heathen role?

2019-03-19 02:08:18 UTC

No clue, but my favourite part about them is when they convert to Catholicism.

2019-03-19 02:21:36 UTC

lmao

2019-03-19 03:12:47 UTC

Ok fellow Gadoligs, what are your favorite prayers?

Pretty big fan of the “Salve Regina” and “Sub Tuum Praesidium”.

Council of Florence > Council of Trent

Also, the Baltimore Catechism, whatever good it may be, was given to us by a Cardinal who was an Americanist, and is thus suspect

2019-03-19 18:52:09 UTC

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Goodbye

2019-03-19 18:53:25 UTC

I have the Baltimore Catechism. It seems generic.

2019-03-19 18:57:00 UTC

I admittedly don't have one, but if it was compiled by an Americanist, then it stands to reason that it may be tainted by that heresy, not that it is worthless or not better than what most Catholics are taught today.

2019-03-19 18:58:17 UTC

Also, really questioning Baptism of Desire or of Blood rn

2019-03-19 20:00:04 UTC

This one is much better. It was given to me by an SSPX priest when I was begoming gadolig.

2019-03-19 20:44:11 UTC

Baltimore Catechism is still pretty good. I didn't notice any problems the last time I read it.

2019-03-20 02:11:22 UTC

I imagine most Catholics would do good by reading it. It's just that the Cardinal who published it was very much an Americanist

2019-03-20 02:14:18 UTC

And part of that belief is that we should soften elements of the faith so that it's easier for others to accept (an extreme example of this today would be Fr. James Martin's softening of the Church's teaching on homosexuality so that it is easier to accept)

2019-03-20 05:37:28 UTC

What would you guys say is the best way of converting someone?

2019-03-20 06:19:45 UTC

Practise what you preach more than you preach it and don't set out talking to someone with the intent to directly convert them so much as the intent to indirectly convert them (I.E., show them the path to the Truth and help keep them there).

2019-03-20 11:59:44 UTC

Those don't work anymore

2019-03-20 12:00:23 UTC

Do you think people are converted when we practice, for example, chastity? Or fear of God? Or the differentiation of men and women?

2019-03-20 12:02:15 UTC

People have no problem giving money to widows, or giving charity, and at the same time being rabid atheists or whatever

2019-03-20 12:04:19 UTC

My advice is: learn the objections and good answers to them. Which is not difficult, considering the objections are always the same retarded, materialistic nonsense

2019-03-20 22:43:31 UTC

@Life's Illusion I'd take Charles Coulomb's advice here

To be fair, apologetics is your biggest tool

2019-03-21 19:21:58 UTC

How can one writer be so out of touch from reality

2019-03-21 19:31:23 UTC

They can be protestant, for one

2019-03-21 19:35:19 UTC

Yeah, that should sum it up. I remember one "non-denominational" pastor who shared a meme of a saint.

2019-03-22 20:13:17 UTC

hello there fellow cats

2019-03-22 21:31:00 UTC

What does drunkard mean?

2019-03-22 21:31:51 UTC

To get drunk multiple times or just once in a while or rarely maybe?

2019-03-22 23:48:35 UTC

A drunkard would imply somebody who is frequently drunk

2019-03-22 23:50:02 UTC

I see

2019-03-23 01:19:35 UTC

does anyone have the source about Martin Luther converting himself as a catholic? I've heard of this but no one gave me any sources so far

2019-03-23 04:24:04 UTC

Hey Ironclad! How's it going?

2019-03-23 04:25:28 UTC

Could all of you please keep Fr. Nicholas Rynne in your prayers? He is engaged in the battle to save the Church in Tasmania and has maybe 4 other clergymen on that whole island for support.

2019-03-24 23:20:35 UTC

there are no safe spaces for the church these days

2019-03-26 19:08:46 UTC

Fr Rynne is a great priest in a tough parish. He actually used to run a Latin mass in Sydney near me before he went down to Tasmania (no surprise he was replaced by a modernist who shut the whole thing down 😡).

2019-03-26 22:20:00 UTC

if your looking for a Latin mass in Sydney theres one over at Lewisham that I've heard of, not been to it myself but I'm planning to check it out soon

2019-03-26 22:42:02 UTC

Yeah Lewisham is pretty good. I try to get out there when I can
