<@&588707615643795456> Daily Question โœ

- What is your opinion on Pre-Martial sex as it pertains to Christianity?

2019-08-07 03:47:17 UTC

It depends, Sex is a part of our biological programming and is nessesarry for the future of our species as well as followers of God. A population of people is required to worship such a being, so it would be counterintuitive for a God to slow the propagation of his followers. However, if used in excess it leads to moral decay and decadence, so God wouldn't want that either because a society of degenerates wouldn't and couldn't follow his will as it was intended. The key is balance, and that balance is achieved through marriage, a sacred vow to be loyal to one spouse and have children. It is not out of the realm of possibility that two people could be with eachother and have sex before marriage and be happy, but many people use the excuse that they want to "see what they like beforehand" and refuse to get married, have many partners, spread diseases, and remain unhappy in the long run. I personally think that if sexuality wasn't so casually expressed nowadays and people weren't so open about it, we would have a better society. I believe God would want the same.

2019-08-09 02:29:16 UTC

I don't see something wrong with it unless you are a thot that has a lot of sexual partners before getting married

<@&588707615643795456> Daily Question โœ

How do you, as Christians living in the modern day, view the various books of the Old and New Testiment which have been excluded in the various official forms of the Bible used by different churches across the world?

2019-08-11 09:51:56 UTC

I'm no Christian.

Ive been fine without him

2019-08-11 20:37:07 UTC

We should bring back the Cult of Reason

2019-08-11 20:37:54 UTC

What are you, an athiest?

2019-08-11 20:37:57 UTC

yep

2019-08-11 20:38:15 UTC

Explain the order of the universe then

2019-08-11 20:38:21 UTC

what do you mean by order?

2019-08-11 20:39:55 UTC

I guess the real question would be, "How much improbability would it take to prove the existence of something outside our understanding manipulating the possibility of our existence?"

2019-08-11 20:40:21 UTC

I don't see what is so improbable about the universe

2019-08-11 20:41:35 UTC

Think of your lineage, how likely is it that you were born, out of the billions of sperm and egg cell combinations possible, to exist?

2019-08-11 20:41:48 UTC

highly unlikely

2019-08-11 20:41:52 UTC

Add that to the likelyhood of your parents being born as well

2019-08-11 20:41:53 UTC

just like every other possibility

2019-08-11 20:42:05 UTC

but someone has to win the lottery

2019-08-11 20:43:31 UTC

Then add the likelyhood of our earth being in the precise location inside our sun's Goldilocks zone

2019-08-11 20:44:18 UTC

the observable universe 46.5 billion lightyears in diameter. It contains trillions upon trillions of stars, many of which have multiple planets

2019-08-11 20:44:49 UTC

The further and further out you pull, the likelihood we would exist to not only observe our universe, but to have intillegence to comprehend it, is not only improbable, but nigh impossible.

2019-08-11 20:44:51 UTC

its extremely likely that at least one of those planets would have the conditions for life

2019-08-11 20:44:52 UTC

Atheism is cringe

2019-08-11 20:45:06 UTC

I got to go to work soon, so ill leave you with this

2019-08-11 20:45:07 UTC

"muh science!!!!1"

2019-08-11 20:45:17 UTC

that's just life, not intillegent life.

2019-08-11 20:45:18 UTC

Even if you are right, you still have not proved that a God is behind it all

2019-08-11 20:45:26 UTC

that is your job

2019-08-11 20:45:39 UTC

Science isn't proof of the universe either

2019-08-11 20:45:39 UTC

alright work time

2019-08-11 20:45:40 UTC

so

2019-08-11 20:45:42 UTC

byebye

2019-08-11 20:45:47 UTC

It is merely another explanation

2019-08-11 20:46:08 UTC

@Deleted User ill give you a lesson in big bang cosmology and quantum gravity later

2019-08-11 20:46:14 UTC

Science is just a toolset for understanding the universe from our perspective. nothing else.

2019-08-11 20:47:09 UTC

Ever thought about the possibility that the big bang was caused by god? <:smug:591181720565579807>

2019-08-11 20:47:14 UTC

The scientific method works pretty well for finding explanations about how our world works, but it is no absolute truth.

2019-08-11 20:48:32 UTC

if you only use your worldly mind, you will only learn worldly answers. you must use your other minds of the soul

2019-08-11 20:50:10 UTC

Also, science is limited by our perspective, which is relative. Think about a centimeter, to a human observer it is a fairly short distance, but to a microbe it is vast.

2019-08-11 20:51:10 UTC

are you christian?

2019-08-11 20:51:16 UTC

Yes

2019-08-11 20:51:34 UTC

I see. Im Buddhist, but I know some Christian beliefs.

2019-08-11 20:51:58 UTC

Very nice

2019-08-11 20:52:57 UTC

I enjoy philosophy, I can see some aspects of faith as limiting when followed blindly. I was taught to question things, even faith.

2019-08-11 20:53:18 UTC

That's good , we believe that too

2019-08-11 20:53:56 UTC

Atheists annoy me due to the fact that they think "Oh, well nothing can be known thus your faith is false, lol XD!"

2019-08-11 20:54:25 UTC

It's a cringy and shaky foundation to build your house.

2019-08-11 20:54:58 UTC

they only use their human mind and perceptions, they believe they are their body. but the body is a vessel, the human spirit is our human aspects, and the soul is us

2019-08-11 20:55:24 UTC

mybe christian is a bit different but could be some parallels

2019-08-11 20:55:48 UTC

Their points go against themselves since none of that science is solid proof

2019-08-11 20:56:01 UTC

It's just fancy word theories

2019-08-11 20:56:45 UTC

yep, but like Crazed said , it just explains this plane/world

2019-08-11 20:56:58 UTC

Which is fine to study, but its not everything

2019-08-11 20:58:05 UTC

I believe we are descendants of a divine being, a heavenly father, and were given bodies so that we could learn to see the universe from a veiled perspective so that we could appreciate the works of our father. When we pass, we await our bodies and spirits to reunite for all eternity, to have both perspectives and achieve a pure and complete soul.

2019-08-11 21:00:09 UTC

One life?

2019-08-11 21:01:10 UTC

However, as we grow on this earth, we can become tainted by sin and the greed of man. If we choose to partake of sin, we lose the appreaciation we have for our divine creation thus losing the ability to be whole again. This world is temporary but our existence is eternal. Depending on how we live in this one, we will influence how our eternal lives are.

2019-08-11 21:02:10 UTC

Depends on how you define life @Solid Sar

2019-08-11 21:02:47 UTC

Ah I see. My religion doesnt believe in eternal Hell. Meaning there is always chance to work up to the next plane of existence.

2019-08-11 21:03:12 UTC

I just meant lik you are only born once here and one chance, in CHristianity?

2019-08-11 21:04:19 UTC

We were "born" millions of years ago when our father conceived us, but our bodies were born here on earth.

2019-08-11 21:05:24 UTC

The afterlife as I see it is broken into two separate parts, which can be divided further.

2019-08-11 21:06:06 UTC

The first part we experience is without our bodies, as spirits. This can be divided into paradise and prison.

2019-08-11 21:06:37 UTC

is the pre-earthly existence the same as the afterlife? or a different plane?

2019-08-11 21:06:57 UTC

Similar, but not the exact same

2019-08-11 21:07:36 UTC

think of a child, innocent and pure. Can they appreciate the world for what it is or are they somewhat ignorant?

2019-08-11 21:09:07 UTC

We are destined for this life much like school, so we are taught and matured through our experiences. When we die, it is like stepping out of college into the wide new world waiting for us.

@Solid Sar this is a better way of explaining it.

2019-08-11 21:23:22 UTC

sorry i ws AFK, ima read it now

2019-08-11 21:24:20 UTC
