And not fluctuating oil
Or any other cause
Erm...
...timing?
Thatโs one
Thatโs not an opinion to be disagreed with, itโs a fact that Venezuela started being over reliant on oil a solid 30 years before the socialist government took power @Attika
Ever hear that correlation does not equal causation?
The crisis was doomed to happen
And when the socialist government took over they collapsed?
They were going to collapse anyway
I disagree.
The Venezuelan economy also suffered in the 1980โs
Seems like it was inevitable
Under a capitalist government
It was inevitable
In fact the charts showed Venezuela was growing.
So tell me how government intervention in the economy is a good thing?
When Chavez first took power Venezuela was literally just walking out of a financial crisis
Because speaking from personal experience.
Government intervention destroys lives.
Youโre not Venezuelan so youโre not speaking from personal experience
?
What?
You said you were speaking from personal experience
I am
You donโt know what caused the Venezuela crisis though
It wasnโt government intervention in the economy
I wasnโt talking about Venezuela.
You just were
I was talking about government intervention in the economy.
You were talking about how government intervention destroyed Venezuela
I was explaining how you are wrong
I had moved on.
Scroll up.
Thatโs quite abrupt
Anyway, whatโs your next point
I have had personal experience where socialist policies destroy lives and force people to become slaves of the state where capitalism frees them. So please explain how government intervention in the economy is a good thing.
What experience
And tell me how โsocialist policiesโ caused it
As I said...
I run and own a corporation.
And what happened
Dealing in real estate and low income housing.
And how did socialism cause it
Ok so you live in America right?
I do
As do I
Simple. There was this girl who rented from us, she was a nice young thing who actually began to work for us. She didnโt take any benefits and so she worked hard on a couple jobs, made some good investments and actually got a good job and began to make her way in life. Then there was an accident and she got let go at her job. Her sister told her it would be a great idea to go on welfare and food stamps. And so she did. Even when another company offered her a better job she turned it down because although she makes less, she can just claim unemployment, HUD and welfare from the government. Youโre Prime socialism.
Thatโs not a socialism problem, thatโs an American problem
๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
Your people are absolutely degenerate
America is not socialist lol
Thatโs socialism in America
They have no honor
Hey.
Youโre talking to an American.
Welfare should only be available for those who are unable to work or find work
Thatโs not a problem with socialism
Okay.
Thatโs a problem with your culture
I can agree with that.
And what are you?
British?
No
Iโm a Bolivian-American who still has the honor that your ancestors did
lol
Are you saying Iโm without honor?
I donโt know you
But that woman you mention has none
It wouldnโt conflict with socialism to cut her off
She did have honor.
From welfare
So you are not full socialist I take it.
I am
But it doesnโt contradict full socialism to only provide welfare to people who deserve it
Like old people or people who are unable to find work
So do you believe the government should run the economy?
I am also a socialist who would refuse aid to those able but unwilling to contribute
No I believe workers should for the most part
How so?
Things should be nationalized though
Not a socialist
but I agree with the socialists
Workers should be supported by the state
How could workers run the economy?
By controlling their workplaces
Leeches should be left to starve if they would like to not work
You need businessmen to direct them.
There are co-ops without bosses that exist that are succsssful
Successful
But that's the exception, not the rule
Youโre talking about a co-op
Thatโs an exception.
Itโs not an exception, itโs just rare because there arenโt many co-ops
A lot of co-ops are family or friends working together.
Thatโs exception
Co-ops in this sense are coworkers working together
Here is my problem.
Iโve worked my ass off to get where I am in life and so did my parents to give me a head start.
The business myself and my family built is built on my blood sweat and tears of my life
Small businesses should be allowed to exist
