What the fuck does it mean to be “spiritual” but not religious. Without the concept of a religion being assumed to be accurate and true there’s nothing to suggest a spirit even exists

I thought I was pretty clear in my explanation of spirituality as the animus of the world explained through deities.

The Greeks and Romans, Romans especially, had a god for everything.

But Greeks and Romans probably didn't think there were literally people living in the clouds that controlled everything.

The concept of a pagan deity is connected to the Earth rather than as omnipotent as Christianity is.

That's why it's spiritual rather than religious in the sense Christianity is.

Most immigrants coming to America are not running for their lives, they simply want a materially better life. They know they can enter the United States illegally and skip all of the tedium, disadvantaging good hardworking potential citizens who might like to become Americans.

America has some of the most lax immigration laws in the world.

Maybe an analogy of, letting the kid on the block with the abusive parents hide in your house because they are going on a rampage would be better, because even that analogy accounts for the problems that kid could bring. Maybe they aren’t properly suited for a fair civilized household, and maybe the house isn’t big enough for them
